He's a shorter version of Bartel. I've said that along. Injures have stifled. He's very good in the air.
He has made more mistakes and poor efforts tonight than Bartel had in his career
How you harp on about him and then shut down players like Mullin is beyond me

That's on Scotty. Why the ever loving F we would play our key forward in the ruck in a goddamn preseason game is beyond stupidity.
So, if Neale is playing in the ruck next week and this happened, would it also be Scott's fault?

Or would it be ok as it occurred in season?

Really is sad to see a usually on point contributor have such a woeful take on a player. Were all fallible I guess.
catempire?

I can certainly see the Worpel limitations but am ready to give him a block of games injury-free + gelling with our group before I relentlessly shitcan him every day. A bit like Bruhn, I think some are eager to dig in right away.

Yes??
He shouldn't be playing in the centre bounce, ever. I love Scotty but that's a ridiculous call by him there.

Good chance it's not necessarily Scott who's made that call, at least not in isolation

Don't forget that the line coaches would be involved in magnet moves, and there's a good chance they wanted to see what Neale could offer as a pinch hitter in the centre square like he was doing last year

Worpel leading clearances in the game..
People need to understand his game and what we actually want from him.
If we had him last year the GF could have gone differently.
No issue understanding his game. It’s quite simple. He gives it to the opposition about half as often as he gets it.

The people overseeing the rules seem to have amnesia sometimes.

2011: Let's bring in a sub rule!
2016: The sub rule is shit! Let's get rid of it!
2023: Let's bring in a sub rule!
2026: The sub rule is shit! Let's get rid of it.

2005: Ruckmen are getting injured jumping into each other. Let's get rid of it.
2026: Ruckmen would look cool jumping into each other! Let's introduce it cos nobody will get hurt.

If you're too young to remember pre-2005, you're likely to hear "PCL" a lot from now on...

Perhaps. Regardless who has made the call it's an egregious one and should be permanently shelved when he comes back (hopefully this year and not worse than a PCL)

It isnt just Scotts fault, its the management team as well. We had no backup plan if we missed Marshall at the end of last year, we did, and now we have nothing but SDK, Neale and a few kids. Not having a plan B to cover the gap is a huge mistake. Neale was always going to go in there at some point, it wouldve been a brave coach to not do it given how weak we are at the position. Injuries are always a risk, especially with the new rules.
