Early Stages I know but I can see this happening...

1) Dylan McLaren - Carlton

-- Already flagged its interest in McLaren, but it could be a smoke screen in order to rob Collingwood of Troy Selwood.

2) Troy Selwood - Collingwood

-- Collingwood would love to get him and is likely to offer more than Carlton, atleast in terms of the length of the contract, that might let Selwood slip through to 2. Still a possibility that he'll re-sign at which point Scott Camporeale, and more importantly the prospect of stealing him from Essendon, might be attractive. If Matthew Lappin isn't re-signed he may well end up in Black and White, if Selwood doesn't re-sign.

3) Llane Spaanderman - Hawthorn

-- Will need a ruckman ready to go for next year and particularly the year after, when Spida is likely gone. Even if they take Ryder at 3 in the National Draft, he won't be ready to go in 2007 as the first-ruck option.

4) Scott Camporeale - Essendon

-- Probably no explanation necessary.

5) Damien Cupido - Richmond

-- Wallace likes to take on a problem child and get him playing good footy and I can see Richmond liking the prospect of Cupido, Brown and Pettifer taking the goal kicking burden off Richo in what might be one of his last seasons.

6) Digby Morrell - Western Bulldogs

-- Both Stephen Gilham and Morrell would likely be in the Bulldogs sights as far as recycled players in both drafts. A flexible Third Tall in defence or attack would benefit a line-up bereft of height, which is what Morrell provides.

7) Shane Woewodin - Fremantle

-- Really don't need him in their line-up, but might do so just to add some experience and depth perception to their list.

* Wouldn't surpirse me if Marc Bullen headed to the Kangaroos either.

like your thinking, morrell would do ok at the dogs, and woewodin would be good for the dockers, dont know who collingwood will get now that selwood has signed, as far as campo goes i hope no one picks him up and he goes home to sa and sooks in some local league.Personally id rather woewodin came to carlton than keeping campo.

Now that Selwood is re-signed, as I mentioned a while back when I posted this, I wouldn't be surprised if Collingwood made a late play for Camporeale.

McLaren is just about a certainty for us now.............Selwood would have been great, but we can't complain about getting a back up Ruckman for nix I guess.

I hope we don't gor for Dylan Smith..........waste of a pick as we already have a few similar types in Bentick, Blackwell & J.Smith IMO.

He has already had a crack at two clubs and got nowhere.

Nothing would give me greater satisfaction than seeing him go to the Pies and win the spoon next year...

BRILLIANT Geelong midfielder Jimmy Bartel has turned his back on an extra $100,000 a season to stay with the Cats.

"After months of negotiations a new three-year deal has finally been agreed on, with the finer details of the contract set to be finalised before tonight's best-and-fairest awards presentation at Crown casino."

"The signing of Bartel for about $275,000 a year means the Cats have locked away all their young guns to long-term deals after forward Steve Johnson agreed to a new two-year contract last week."

"Bartel's name was high on the trade wish list of several clubs, including Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton."

"It is understood the 21-year-old could have earnt up to $1.6 million over four years from one potential suitor."

I have been watching Brisbane replays and I truly dont like what I see in McLaren. Please lets not waste this rare opportunity on a short (196cm) ruckman who always gets to the ball second and always gets outwrestled. We already have Prendergast for that.

It's a very shallow PSD are Carlton are looking someone who can help fill a hole in our list. Ruckman take a while to develop and we should be patient with McLaren. Even when we got French from Port, I questioned that decision. What would we do without him now?

McLaren gives us some depth in the ruck. Average player who may get a little better with more opportunity. Worth a try through the PSD. Around the ground he is average, looks lost most of the time. I would hope Bryan would be of more value in other positions and as a part-time ruckman next year and beyond.

Personally I am wrapt with Chris Bryan, not with his ruckwork but around the ground.I hope he can settle in a position, maybe CHB,he can read the play well, take clean strong marks and that booming kick is very big asset not only for him but for the team.Like I said he just needs a go in the one position so he can pick up the flow of the game and not do too much spare part/filling in.I also love De Luca up front but again not to be shuffled around too much
