I have some revolutionary thought here... We chose the best player. If we can't decide then chose the KPP/tall.

Just got off the phone with the coach of the Murray Bushrangers who informed me that Tom Rockliff will be training with the Dees from Monday. There is a link with Kelly O'Donnell (our development coach) who used to coach the Bushies.

Happy for Tom, as i think he deserves a shot at AFL footy, but don't think he's exactly what we need.

Not exactly what we need, but not exactly what we don't need either.

I'd be happy with Rockliff in the PSD. Probably prefer him over almost any other option tbh.

This is really stupid....we have absolutely no-one over 185cms training with us... WHAT THE???

there is quality players in sibasado and gaertner still available in the PSD and rookie drafts and realistically we could pick up both....yet we have O'sullivan, hughes, traeger and mckenzie training with us.....all of who would be wasted picks beacuse they offer us nothing that we dont already have

I am NOT HAPPY!

Gaertner is training with the Saints for the next 2 weeks

Here's the updated list:

Melbourne: Tristan Francis (Gippsland Power), Daniel Hughes (Melbourne rookie 2007), Jordie McKenzie (Geelong Falcons), Sam O'Sullivan (Oakleigh Chargers), Dylan Ross (Claremont), Shane Tregear (Sandringham), Marcus White (Calder Cannons)

So we've heard abit about McKenzie and O'Sullivan, and we know plenty about Hughes and Tregear. Anything on Francis, Ross or White would be nice.

Francis is a quick mid from Gippsland, ran a 2.9 20m sprint at SS, not a huge possession winner but still regularly in the best in TAC cup. Kicked quite a few goals this year.

Ross was one of the KP forwards for WA in the u18 champs, but was pretty quiet. Had a solid season playing Colts, he kicked goals in all but 3 games but only more then 2 goals twice. Strong mark and an AIS graduate.

White plays all over the ground, several TAC cup BOG's this year some playing as a forward (kicked 6 goals) and another playing as a HBF/BP and he played a through the middle as well. Not what you'd call quick, but uses the ball well and sets up play off HB really well. He mosts fits the style of how we drafted

Anyone know where Sibisado is training? He looked pretty good from his highlights tape and could be a good pick up IMO.

I wonder if the MFC rate him?

Looks like the next Adam Goodes. I'd like him definatley. Will be a gun.

would have said more like lance franklin... cant believe this kid didnt get drafted on that footage... surely we'd be highly considering him

I would very much like this kid playing for us than against us. I feel that if he slips though our fingers we will rue the day with ablomb.

We have control with the first pick, may we use it very wisely.

played with sibasado. great kid and moves amazingly for his size, and good skills. i dont think he would be training with anyone atm. being at boarding school doesnt get much time at home so may be chilling with the family. i think we need another KPF. no more mid sized players please.

Sibosado = Caleb Mourish
Gaertner = David Gourdis

Steff Martin was something of an unknown last year, so i'm not particularly fussed who it is. I have faith in the Prendergast/Bailey combination and so should you! :D

Disagree.

Franklin is far more fluid in his movement, more natural and a bigger kick.

Though Sibosado looks like a better overhead mark at the same age, by a fair way too.

I'd go with the Goodes comparison too.

pretty sure we got davey at pick 3 in the rookie draft not the p.s.d

mate how is it the same shit? we actually got him far cheaper than we would have in the psd

Debatable, seeing as we had a mad dash to scratch together enough $$ to promote him to the senior list.

Agreed however that it's not the same, PSD = spot on the senior list and can play from round one, PSD also(but not necessarily) means more money for the player picked up(however, rookies now have an uncapped maximum wage, as long as it fits in the salary cap), PSD also can be a player of any age over 18 while the RD can only be players 18-23.

I don't really mind who we take as long as it's one of Rockliff, Tom Hill or Sibosado.

Although i think it would be wise to pick Tom Hill because he is too young to be rookied and he is likely to be a top prospect next year, And both Sibosado and Rockliff will probebly still be there for our first rookie pick.

I don't think you can pick 17 y.o's in the PSD...
Agree though, he will most likely be top 20 next year.
