I imagine that if a Cats fan had relevant information it would already have found its way to BigFooty, however if someone is indeed in possesion of recorded times for trials such as the 3km and so on, I'm sure the rest of us would love to see them.

If not, are there any reports on the general progresss of the squad in terms of fitness levels? I'm not really after generalised statements including terms such as "flying", and "training the house down" etc, moreso an honest appraisal of how the players look with regard to running drills. 2006 made us all acutely aware of how an inadequate pre-season can hinder the team's performance during the season...

Not the best start for Josh Hunt if thats the case. To hold his spot he'd want to have a killer off season.

But he's a huge unit. He's not a runner.
So that puts him in no mans land then. To small to Play KP to slow to play small. For josh to keep a spot in the team he needs to improve his running so he can play on the milnes, daveys etc.

they havent done a 3km time trial yet they just done two 6 minute runs and a repeat speed test but they did the repeat speed n the 1st 6 minute run on the same day so all i know of the 2nd 6 min run was that ling got bout 1900m, selwood was about 1840m, and enright, donohue, moles, kangars, djerkerra, corey and a few others were around the 1800m mark. simon hogan got 4 laps the 1st time they did it. josh hunt, dawson simpson n mark blake didnt do the best..
Hogan broke 10 mins for the 3km time trial at the draft camp in 2006, so I would have thought that with the extra conditioning that would come from a year of professional footy, 1800m in 6 min wouldn't have been that hard from him.

Maybe he's injured, or maybe some extra bulk (badly needed) has slowed his running a bit.

Thanks Salsa, that's quite interesting. No surprises to hear Linga is the fittest. Very pleasing to hear of Joel Selwood's performance in relation to others with several years advanatage. It will be interesting to see how their 3km times stack up to other clubs when they actually do that test.

draft camp is held in winter, right? I can't imagine their times would be that great in the heat of January either.

Ling is a machine, but its encouraging to see Selwood is not too far behind him.

Short sprints are more crucial for Hunt in this case, and he is very quick off the mark.. I don't see small forwards going on 1500 meter leads..

great to see selwood up there just behind lingas. If Josh Hunt can get fit that would be a bonus. At least he takes off hard and hits the target. Be intersesting to see how the boys go with rooke, harley, egan, scarlett and daza in the team one small bloke might have to go and harley play on the smalls
