I would not mind going but I would have to go by train.
After 10 minutes in the car and the Sciatic nerve pain drives me crazy.

It would be a late night getting home by train as well.

I'd go by car but noway am I driving for over 2 hours that late in the afternoon/evening. If the match tarted at 1.45 or so I would go.

you know im only good for smart arse one liners, any form of detailed analysis i leave to the likes of yourself, partridge, dazbroncos and in particular jubjub

Usually the last game, most clubs will put out the best 22. Will we take danger to adl...no biggy but just a thought. Plus, to keep the win ratio up v them recently?

I agree rabbi a traditional 2.10pm time slot would be perfect IMHO, kids in the car at 10am picnic lunch on the lake at Dayleford and on to the game, home at 6.30pm a day out to remember.

Is it a big deal to have a 4.10pm time slot? Kids in the car at noon, picnic lunch on the lake at Daylesford and on to the game. Home at 8.30pm after a day out.

Is the Geelong vs Essendon fixture in Bendigo going to be a regular occurrence? Didn't we play them there earlier this year as well?

Shepparton in 40 degree heat when Thurlow did his knee. I was there for that. Hottest day ever for me at a sporting event. The heat is the main reason for twilight and night games.

I actually think it's good to have games in Bendigo and Launceston. Mixes it up a bit, gives you a chance to see different parts of Australia. Bendigo is not that far away, takes about long to get there as it did to get out of the car park at Waverly.

It's only the pre season too, so don't really understand the whingeing.

I've explained this numerous times. The stand is of no consequence to having the same amount of home games as last season, and bearing in mind they've given us a home game at the MCG after the stand is due to have been completed.

Ok so you've cancelled your membership because we've got one less Geelong game than last season?

The three games that Geelong play in are in Tassie, Adelaide and Bendigo.

With the game in Bendigo starting at 4:10 pm on the Sunday, it may be restrictive to those who have to be up early for work on Monday. But still, there is always the local pub with Fox TV.

The monday is a public holiday

I dont think we played them at Bendigo. However I think the club has been pushing the Bendigo line a bit with a couple of VFL matches held there each year, just a stone's throw from our VFL's sponsor's headquarters.

Essendon also target the Calder corridor, so it is likely to be a healthy turnout, especially if Essendon decide they are going in with a 'full team' for the first time in over a year.

Friday, Feb 17 - Geelong v Hawthorn (University of Tasmania Stadium)
Sunday, March 5 - Geelong v Adelaide (Richmond Oval, Adelaide)
Sunday, March 12 - Geelong v Essendon (Queen Elizabeth Oval, Bendigo)

Sucks to be a Victorian-based supporter unless you're within an hour or two of Bendigo....

Home game for me[emoji41]

Same. It's not too far for me.

You can catch the train straight there? Or do you need to change at Southern Cross?

Being an Adelaide-based supporter, I'm pretty happy about this. Richmond Oval is a stone's throw away from where I work. Depending on how many people make it to the ground, I may well utilise my employer's carpark. If West Adelaide's league side matches are anything to go by, there will be nowhere to park for miles.
