Note holders - a special membership class that's a throwback to the formation of the Eagles and the company Indian Pacific that was formed to raise money for the license fee. They get priority access to finals tickets and some other benefits I think

Something like that anyway.
Spot on. Priority access to finals. Have sat behind interchange bench at most finals. Guaranteed seats at GF. Gave them to a friend to use and they got awsome GF seats. And we get first options of seats at perth oval before other members.

How many 'likes' did you give out to get your note?

As in the cross-continental former luxury sleeper train service, the Indian-Pacific?
Nothing to do with the train at all as far as I know although they share the same name

The company was a bust anyway and the WAFC took over the license in 1989 and Indian pacific was shutdown it long after.

Fair enough. Thought they might have tried to promote it as a way of going to interstate matches back when flight prices were outrageous

I may be wrong here but I believe that any transfer in ownership of the club's licence to the AFL (which has been mooted) might also mean that the AFL will also have to buy back the "notes" from the "holders". That may be why McHenry etc... were buying them up a few years ago.

Who does he replace? Shep too does his best work back there. Wellingham maybe the only one with the ability to rotate further up the ground.

If Yeo had the tank to play on a wing his aerial prowess would come in handy. He has pace and offers a great target for the outlet kick. He would need better endurance and understanding of where to run.
FB Hurn Emac Sheppard
HB Yeo Barrass Mitchell
C Gaff Priddis Sheed
HF Darling Mcgovern Cripps
FF Rioli Kennedy Lecras
R Lycett Priddis Shuey
I Wellingham Redden Jetta Hutchings/Duggan/Parto/Masten whoever is performing better.

Slyce rucks, gov gives backup. When gov goes to ruck darling CHF, if gov has to go back again Darling CHF.

Who seriously doesn't understand why rucking Gov is a bad idea ? And seriously, Barrass had a few good games and one blinder and most on here think he is ready to be our No 1 key defender? The boy obviously has heaps of talent, but slowly slowly eh ? And DONT ruck Gov!
With our No. 1 and No. 2 ruckmen both down with knee injuries, incurred while playing on the ball ... why not play Gov in the ruck? It's not like he's injury prone or anything!

Or that he has been pretty ineffectual on the few occasions he has been thrown in there?

The problem is we are prone to getting ****** up the ass by ground-level contested footy oriented teams. If we want to play Barrass, Mackenzie (or Schofield), McGovern, Kennedy and Darling plus a second ruckman on the field at the same time, then we become far too vulnerable to smaller sides that play a less aerial gameplan.

Especially since a lot of our smalls (Sheppard, Le Cras, Hill, and Yeo to an extent) also play tall.

Then in my scenario schofield replaces barrass. It's pretty simple, you play 2 genuine tall defenders, both yeo and sheppard are exceptional above their head for their size. Thats plenty of tall coverage down back. Hurn for the power and kick outs, mitchell for the release and class. Gov becomes a true swingman. If we're against GWS then potentially an extra tall down back, but we need to get it into our thick skulls as a football club 6-7 talls is plenty. Most would say 7 is too many

Agree with this too, but Gov in the ruck (or forward) is not the answer.

I'm so sick of this Land of the Giants game plan we have been seduced into for the last 10 years. As you say, we have players who play much taller than their height suggests. I'd add Hill (if he gets a look in) and LeCras too.

Ideally our big boys are 6 of:

- Ruck (Giles/Lycett)
- Fwd/Ruck (Vardy/Petrie/Lycett)
- FF (Kennedy)
- HF (Darling)
- HB (Gov)
- FB (Barrass/Emac/Schofield)

There's plenty of rucking depth in this team now to ensure we have adequate coverage for whoever is rucking the majority of the game.

I reckon at a pinch Darling would be a better option than Gov. He actually showed more in the few contests he was thrown in than Gov did. He halved contests and actually won a few too IRC.

Edit: Apologies, missed your inclusion of Hill and LeCras.

But there's no chance in hell that both Schofield and Mackenzie don't play, so we end up with one too many talls, unless Gov moves forward and replaces Vardy/Petrie/Lycett as second ruck.

Man, if they continue with that shit we are going to get found out big time. If, God forbid, they think 2 of Barrass, Emac, Schofield are a better combo than having Gov in the backline and throw him forward instead of Vardy/Petrie etc then I honestly think we'd be better with Darling in that forward/ruck role.

As much as he keeps going on about how it's his fave position etc, Gov has shown jack shit when thrown in there.

Ugh. I've just broken out in a cold sweat thinking about this scenario.

Nice options. ..how can we play them all at the same time?
