I'm saying that it doesn't really mean much though does it if it doesn't help us win the important matches. It's more a reflection on the quality we have in the forward line as opposed to our forward entries being anything special.
I'd argue that the setup we were using stood up in other important games last season, and even though we weren't playing good football for a large portion of last year our forward efficiency enabled us to still get 16 wins. Agreed we have some quality forwards who definitely help things.

Interesting that he named Cole as being in the mix with Schofield, Barrass and butler as players pushing to be in the best 22 given that some of us on here, myself included, have expressed concerns on his form over the preseason

Also says he wouldn't be surprised if Rioli AND VENABLES get a game this year. Watson got a mention too as a draftee that's impressed
I saw that. Good to see Nelson is B22 atm

We did have the highest percentage of scores to entries so what ever we do must be working ok.

Damn lies and statistics.............that's the saying I'm pretty sure.

I'd like to see our stats versus top 8 and then the top 4 sides versus the easy kills when we play weak sides especially at home.

That's where the meaningful stats are.

Exactly. You can make stats work in your favour in any argument. Masto had more goals than Ablett last year!! Also more tackles

I'm quite bullish about our chances this year. The pre-season has been at a very good intensity and everyone seems switched on. Our weakness will be the ruck, but if Giles can stay fit I think we'll do ok.

On a side note, I was watching the pre-season games on Youtube and catching Petrie out of the corner of my eye reminded me of Ashley McIntosh - similar build and short blonde hair. He has done ok, but I think Vardy has the second ruck spot. Handy back-up, though.

Interesting that Ceglar from the Hawks who did his ACL in the same game as Nic is listed as 12 weeks. Very optimistic I think.
Potentially optimistic- but I believe it really depends on the severity of the tear, how you recover from the surgery and how well you manage to up the training loads. Ceglar doesn't have the same bulk as NN so may find that last part easier.

I believe that we will be more cautious with NN regardless of the weeks we list at this point.

Is he actually? You're not being a professional athlete if you don't eat professionally
There are some very successful vegan body builders and athletes apparently. Not sure how they do it but they do. Must be info out there about it. B12 and getting enough quality epa and dha omegas are the main concerns for vegans.

I like a BBQ, but I have read that a high proportion of Iron man winners are vegetarian

I don't think the size of the tear is the answer. They replace the tendon with tendon from somewhere else (usually hamstring) or an artificial graft (lars) sometimes a combination of both if the tendon graft from the hamstring is not a good quality. So the tear size doesn't matter, the tendon is replaced anyway.

I think Nic Nat will just be put in cotton wool because of the player he is, and that is the right decision IMO.

I think Travis is being a little generous with his player summary.

"Redden backed up his 39-disposal effort in last weekend's practice match with another prolific midfield display."

Sheesh did he? Could've fooled me.
Lel, he was absolute puss.
Peter Siddle is a vegan. Has a weird thing for bananas.
Completely lost his pace and ability after changing too.

I think the change of diet was partially in response to recurring injury, think it was back iirc. Age certainty played a role in his lack of pace too. He was definitely not the same bowler though.

It was great to see him bowling well for Aus last year once more, he was a champ.

That's why I said severity of the tear. Size doesn't impact so much for the reasons you mentioned.

Size of the individual though, would have much more of an impact on recovery time. NN is far more built than ceglar- carrying that weight puts that extra pressure on the knee. Compare that to the smaller Bob Murphy, who did his knee in round 3 last year and is already back playing.

I agree though- he is far too important to risk. If he isn't ready this year, then he isn't ready. Better to wait than risk an interrupted preseason going into next year.

Are you going to continue to play Jetta off half back?

I've noticed you're a Freo supporter so I'll give you some grace. He hasn't been playing off half back, but off the wing. He does work hard to get back to help as a winger.

Got to love Simpson answer to the Violet Crumble.
