I feel like Acres is type of player who could do a Danger - Fyfe - Martin type. Impacting in the midfield and kicking goals. Steven, Armitage, Ross ain't those mids who have consistency with kicking goals. Acres showed that he can kick goals in 2017, so I kinda hope he can get like 20 - 40 goals in 2018.

Acres promises so much and now will with 44 games under his belt and only turned 22 a couple mths ago could be anything.
He is a guy who could really be a superstar.
With Steele , Sinclair , Billings , Gresham , Dunstan a don't see any team close to us with talent ready to explode.

Wouldn't surprise me if Collingwood made it, but they need to go more direct - they have a lot of talented midfielders (eg Adams, Treloar) who aren't superb kicks - their continued mucking around with it just offers the opposition a chance to grab and score from a turnover. Still don't know where the goals will come from either.

On the plus side, have a soft draw so could very much be one of the middle group to leapfrog the rest and make it.

I never thought I would be missing Roo and Joey already especially when I saw this photo on the afl site

Can’t wait for 2018 season.
Lets hope our new stars can get some ultimate glory. Pretty godam sick and tired of celebrating club champions and the 66 gf.

Just in case anybody is really bored on youtube there are streams of TAC games from this year including many Stingrays games. I've just watched a few including the game against the Knights.

Firstly on Hunter
-He never funbles ever. Just so clean, one handed pick ups, his kicking is silky as it gets either side. Once he puts on some size he is going to be so difficlut to tackles. The thing that separetes Clarke form other players is his willingness to move the ball forwards.
Its interesting because if you just describe his attributes with no influence of the knoweldge of his performances you would say his is exactly what we need. Despite the supposed clear top 4 of the draft.

After more vision he is very simmilar to Shaun Higgins/Lachie Whitfield which is everything we need.

Nick Coffield
-Coff is just so creative and composed. His kick is very penetrating however what is going to allow him to become a midfielder is his step. He just cuts angles so easily and well. Whilst his midfield game isn't there yet, we have to pesist. He really has all the tools. Also his clutch goal out of the pack from 55 was unbeivable.
Thanks for the heads up, I watched the start of it. It’s hard to get a read on hunter when the Stingrays have three players in the middle with lean builds, long hair and Headbands. But he does seem to hit the pack hard and fight that bit harder for his disposals.

Coffield’s composure really stands out, considering it’s such a congested game with so many wayward disposals.

If we think about recruits vs 09/10 teams

Coffield = BJ
Hunter = Dal
Dalton > Brett Peake
Clav > Dawson
Paton < Baker
This is ridiculous. You can't compare guys who haven't played a game yet or that you have actually seen play game to guys who were regularly featuring in one of the best performing sides of that era.

And really, Peake may not have been a superstar, but saying a guy taken in the rookie draft who hasnt done anything, you haven't seen play a game, and in all reality, has very low odds to ever play a game at AFL level is just laughable.

You make some decent points.
May I suggest having 6 stubbies and reconsidering?
Dare to dream brother...

I’m surprised you picked out peake though.. if anything my Goddard and Dal dream is the most laughable!

Anyhow... that highlight reel of Langlands is delicious... wouldn’t it be nice!

you are setting yourself up for disapointment at the moment all 5 are lessed players than Brett Peake was in 2010 .. at the moment of our defenders only Robbo is an equal of Dawson in 09 and 10 ... i dont think a combo of two players is the equal of BJ or dal .. and baker was pretty much cooked by 09/10

I can understand people hoping that our top draft picks end up as influential and high performing as our previous superstars - though I do hate when people say they are just going to be like that player because thats just delusional and they will be a different players because we haven't got a time machine and redrafted Dal at 18.

But there is nothing I hate more than when people constantly say that a new late late draft pick or rookie pick is going to come into the team and we better than someone who consistently played good/decent football for a team. Not every players in a team is a star, but those 12-22 ranked players on the field have to be pretty good at their job to stay in the team. So when people suggest rookie type players are the equal to them it pisses me off because in all reality, that rookie players won't play more than 10 games and was never going to be a consistent AFL player. And then when that players gets delisted in 2-4 years time, people go on and on about how the club ruined them or didn't give them the opportunity because they were actually a hidden superstar who is better than most players getting a game, I just cringe at how laughable and stupid it is. Rant over, just something that really pisses me off.

LOL.

So Coffield, who has never played a game is on par with an AA, who was regarded in the top 5 players in the league and nearly won us a grand final?!
PM me, I need some of the shit you’re smoking stat.

In the 'Jimmy & Timmy' video (http://www.saints.com.au/video/2017-12-18/the-jimmy-timmy-show-1812) they notice that Jack Steele has had his skin folds done and ask him how he went. He remarks that he has improved, and sports science predicts that will translate into increased running power. Look out! Another small sign that the boys are applying themselves and moving in the right direction.

You got to dream big though. Plenty of teams have rebooted over a couple drafts. Perhaps this is Trouts opus and he's worked on some alchemic experiments while consulting an oracle.

No i dont drink haha. It doesnt matter who you have or what coach you have. If you dont play together as a team that would die for each other then you wont win anything. Its that simple.
If you dont drink, what is your excuse for your posting?
