BTW, the long-time GF of one of my nephews, who teaches at Whitefriars College, was at Chrissie lunch at our place today and she told us that Nick Coffield was in her class (this year I take it, possibly her homeroom).

Last year she taught Pat Lipinski (who WB got in the 20's in last year's draft).

ITK status confirmed yo. :thumbsu:

did she have anything to say about him?

No she just kind of dropped it in at one point and I guess the conversation quickly moved onto other things and as such I didn't get the chance to ask her to add any more, and then I forgot to ask her later. Will hopefully remember next time I see her.

Is it my imagination or has Koby Stevens dropped some weight as well ?

Can’t wait for 2018 season.

He dropped a fair bit of weight early last season after his ‘dodgy prawn’ or whatever it was. Another one who probably wasn’t at his best fitness wise last season due to that set back. He’s not too fashionable, but he could be very handy in form and fitness. Reckon he might surprise a few people.

He tore us a new one in a game for the Dogs 2 or 3 years back. Better player than many give him credit for.

The biggest improvement in him might come from his groin release surgery. He's apparently running freely for the first time in years.

Post on SS stating Steele has a broken fibula and will miss the season. Announcement in the new year.:(

Don't shoot the messenger.
Just doing a quick google read, a broken fib doesn't sound like something that would be likely to put you out for so long that you'd miss half the preseason, and then the whole season.

From what I read, the fact he's in a boot looks like one of the better case scenarios, if it is a broken fib.

Maybe miss the rest of the preseason, not season.

Thankfully we have a lot of depth in this area now, if he does miss any games with it.

Not good if he's had two lower leg breaks inside 15 months tho.

It's a four to six week injury

That's a sigh of relief George thanks.

George is this injury true though?
Only thing that would keep him out for a year is an ACL tear, an achilles tear, or a complete leg break.

He is in a moon boot. Moon boot's aren't used to help with broken legs. They are used to take pressure off of foot and ankle injuries.

If it was a severe leg break he would be on crutches or have it in a cast, not in a boot. His leg would have needed to heal for at least a couple of months before a GP would recommend using a boot.

If that stuff was in fact posted on SS it is complete rubbish.

Yes, the fib is the non weight bearing bone. I did my right one... 6 weeks in plaster and then another three or so doing physio before I could drive. It’s definitely the better bone to break if you have a choice. He's younger and definitely stronger and fitter than me so should probably recover more quickly, especially with all the medical staff on hand.
Still, damn unlucky if it’s so.

If true then there goes his strong pre-season. Oh well, he did well without one last year.

Also, if it’s true then both Paddy and Steele copped foot injuries in training. Who had been treading on toes?

It takes at least 6 weeks for the broken bones to heal. It may take longer for the involved ligaments and tendons to heal. As mentioned above, your doctor will most likely monitor the bone healing with repeated x-rays. This is typically done more often during the first 6 weeks if surgery is not chosen.

The fibula and tibia are the 2 bones that connect the knee to your ankle .
Having broken both my fibula ang tibia I am not concerned for him if true
They can screw a plate in to join the break, then remove the plate at season end
As said above 6 weeeks off feet and running again but Rors would know more .
The femur is the the one you don’t want to break .it connects hip to knee and maybe the largest or second largest bone in the body
Michael Voss broke his and had a rod inserted into the bone and had a season off
