Hi folks. Just thought I'd pop over and give you the benefit of my wisdom.

I've thought long and hard about this...Port by three goals.

You can all get on with your other business now I suppose. :thumbsu:

Happy to help. :)

(BTW Capitalist:- Tredders is an out this week. Don't think he'll be playing next week either.)

Been a while since Tredders made a difference in a showdown so I think that we can excuse Capitalist's lack of attention to a minor detail.

boy you must have short posts on the PAP Board then......

PS - nice bookshelf - where can I place my order....;)
BTW if your kids are looking for something to do in their spare time tell them about Planet Teal. There's games, downloads, advice on food and fitness, they can chat to the players.... all sorts of stuff they can get into. Lots of good clean healthy fun for young minds. Follow the link in my sig and bookmark it. :thumbsu:

Or alternatively just take them to see the teal.

Just go to any old Port game as I have many times this year and admire all the teal .................. of the empty seats all around the ground. ;)

I suppose we'll have to wait for the younger generations to come through before we fill the stadium.

I guess it will be an odd feeling for Crows fans as the sound of knitting needles at Footy Park gradually fades with the passing of the years.

ah yes teal. the colour Nike advised the great alberton corporation to include in their designs, as it was selling such a storm for the Charlotte Hornets.

What a shame, a soul less corporation that can't even get that right! :p

I have to say (and it has been said before many times but not by me!)

that Douglas seems to be a bit of a champ- I have mates who a regular SANFL goers and they can;t believe Douglas hasn't got a game

obviously other things come into consideration with these things but if a bloke is turning that many heads in the SANFL you would think he is close to selection -i reckon that knee injury cost him his first AFL game

We are two weeks out from the finals... do you REALLY want to play a first gamer now?

Jenny like you I think its getting too late in the year to introduce a debutant.

BUT

What other game in the year can you get finals like atmosphere and playing conditions to see how a lad will go?

so you are comparing Douglas to Brereton?
No that’s a stretch.
I'm just saying that sometime players do debut in finals, usually for the unpredictability factor.
Its not imposable is all.

He travelled as an emergency last week, so clearly he's in the club's planning. Knights will possibly get the nod ahead of Dougie now, after his huge stats on the weekend, but sometimes you've got to go on instinct and take a punt. I've got no doubt Knights can come in and find plenty of the ball, but with the way our skills have been lately, can we afford another guy who's disposal has been a bit iffy at AFL level? From what I've seen of Dougie in the SANFL, I'd back him to come in, and at least be clean with his disposal.

Shyte I hope thats not what your pinning all your hopes on. Kids are becoming brainy younger these days, ah there's hope for those poor disadvantaged Port kids yet.

I can sort of see where Jenny is coming from here. On one hand we dont want to see the team unbalanced anymore than we can help it. We have had so many injuries of late which IMO has upset the balance of the team, although we have got away with it for quite a while I think it has taken its toll on us the last few weeks. but if there is a time to bring someone else in then I think we need to do it now. This game will have all the pressure of a final but with less to lose. I think maybe its time to bring in one of those players, I probably lean towards Knightsy, to give them that experience and the team another option.
