Pic of him in the herald sun today without a shirt on. Hit the gym for christ sake, no wonder his serve sucks for a guy his height. Lightweight.

Best case scenario at the moment he will develop into a decent top 20-30 player, like a Cilic for example. On his junior pedigree, that's disappointing.
 
bloke looks like he has no muscle mass whatsoever. hell i hit the gym 3-4 times a week and have more mass. he is coming closer and closer to the cross roads of his tennis career. he has to be guided the right way imo
 
this bloke needs a mentor. thinks he is bigger than the country. i mean to not attend the tennis australia awards yet be seen cruising around in his new yellow Ferrari. cmon mate get with your fellow aussie tennis players and focus on being a tennis player or at least part of something rather than an egotistic twat wasting talent many can only dream of.

Tennis Australia Awards aren't really anything, I wouldn't take that seriously. And he's an adult, he can buy a Ferrari if he wants to. Sure, he looks like a bogan whose tennis career is going down the toilet but it's his life and he's not doing antyhing illegal or really anything special. the fact this was a serious sports story just show how sad the state of Australian media and journalism is in Australia.

Focus on his tennis (which sucks) instead of what he does in his spare time. Today's story just made me sick
 
It seems Pat has had enough and has dropped him from the Davie cup team. Tennis Australia apparently also considering cutting funding to him. Will this be the wake up call he needs before its to late.

PAT Rafter has dumped troubled tennis prodigy Bernard Tomic from next year's opening Davis Cup tie.
Media reports also suggest Tennis Australia will cut Tomic's support funding for the start of next year.
''Pat has made the decision early that for the first tie next year Bernard will not be selected,'' TA's director of tennis, Craig Tiley told Fairfax Media.
''As a team, we just felt that part of the commitment that we make to athletes and athletes make to the sport is they always put 100 per cent commitment and effort in competing for their country.
"I think you can draw a few parallels with Marinko (Matosevic). It's very much along those lines. It's not one specific incident, just an aggregation of his approach to the game.

"We just felt that this decision should provide additional motivation every time he walks on the court to be a total professional in his approach to not only his preparation but competing in the match and post-match.
"And it would be no different if he was the No.1 player in Australia, or the No.100 player, or a junior."
World No.9 and fellow Gold Coaster Sam Stosur, who usually plays a straight bat and keeps many of her opinions to herself, also chimed in to label Tomic's recent behaviour as "disappointing".

"He's young but he seems to be making a lot of poor decisions at the moment," Stosur told Melbourne radio station 3AW.
"I hope for his sake he grows up pretty quick."
"He needs to realise what he is doing and make some changes pretty quick."

I'm sure not flying to Taiwan after the Aussie summer might actually be a bonus for him actually. I think your just punishing the team if your not selecting your best players in a competition that is so off and on. Will be funny if he plays well in the aussie summer now
 
Yeah doubt Tomic would lose any sleep over it.

You are stuffed either way if you are Pat.

He has tried the softly softly approach with the Tomic camp which evidently hasn't worked.

Now if Tomic gives the bird back to him, where the hell do you go with the davis cup team, especially if you are not picking Matosevic on the same grounds. Hewitt would want to be fit when the tie comes around.
 
Anyone else think Bernie may've actually just been trolling with that Ferrari business the other day? He probably knows how stupid the media is (how the heck that is newsworthy is just beyond me) and is probably just taking the piss. Was probably brought up like a typical spoilt wog boy (I am a "wog" before anyone decides to have a go at me :p), hence is just acting as he has all his life. Although I'm not sure it was right for every man and his dog to give their opinion in the media either, even if they're right.

He also says he was never available to play in the davis cup tie due to training in America.

"I was never meant to play that Davis Cup tie," Tomic told the Ten Network.

"I spoke to Pat (about that).
"I'm going to use that time for training and to prepare for tournaments in America."

Samatha Stosur showed the difference doing all the hard work can make and if Tomic can follow in her footsteps he could do some great things in tennis.

It is his attitude that is preventing him from being a good tennis player. If he can get that part right, the rest will come.

If he doesn't change that he'll end up being one of those players who will occasionally beat a good player but will never get the consistency to be one of the world's great players.
