I would rather Griff get number 4 as he is a Centre Half Forward kinda make another great in the position (Royce Hart is the other i'm talking about)

Can't see Post getting number 12 yet, will probably be retired for another year at least

Hard to say because we don't know what numbers will become available after delistings, but I would say Dustin Martin to get the number 12. Griffiths to get 4. And then perhaps Astbury/Graham/Collins to get any of 5-7-11

Number 8 certainly was not right.

Anyway:

Martin has to be number 5...that number is designed for Stars...plus kids will buy the new jumper number 5 and will increase revenue because no one would have had Troy Simmonds Jumpers

For mine:
Martin 4 & Nason 7. They are the only 2 who have earnt a lower number, the rest of the rookies as well as Post haven't really done enough at this stage to warrant being given lower numbers.

I'd leave 5, 6(assuming Polak is delisted), 11, 12, 13(assuming McMahon is gone) free and let guys like Griffiths Astbury Webberley Taylor Post Dea as well as this years batch of draftees who can get the high jumpers of other delisted players fight for the right to wear the lower numbers.

I wanna buy a few richmond guernseys and have all my favourite numbers on them :) (after I don't buy food for a month)

12, 3, 32, 8, 9 and Dusty's permanant number...whatever that will be (he might even keep 36)

Could not agree more with this opinion on the number 5.
Martin and Simmonds shared the gym together also .

Here's how I see them panning out.

1. Robbie Hicks
4. Andy Collins
5. Dustin Martin
6. Daniel Conners
11. Pat Contin
12. Ben Griffiths
14. Troy Taylor
16. Jayden Post
19. David Astbury
27. Ben Nason
31. Jeromey Webberley
32. Matt Dea

Andy Collins has to stay 24 that was Bustling Billy Barrots number and I heard him say that bill was his childtime hero as he used to watch the old black and white replays and wanted to base his game on Billys silky skills.

When he was a kid in eaglehawk, he used to run around in the back paddock emulating billys 90 yard drop kicks with both feet.

For mine..

I would like to see Dusty move to the number 6 if polak doesnt get another contract. Makes sense going from 36 to 6.

Plus I like the idea of Lids being 3 then 3 more is Dusty being 6 then 3 more is the chimp being 9!!!!

Could market the 3 game membership somehow on this!!!!

Just a thought......

& 3 more will be #12 so when Griffiths is ready he continues your pattern.

Problem is I don't see Martin in 6 & in reality... I am not too fussed about the jumper number thingo.
(I'd love someone to play in # 99... or # 00 but I'm sure there is some rule that does not allow this)

Why can't you see him in the number 6 Roachy????

I think it seems the most logical to go from 36 to 6

If he doesnt go to the number 6 i'd love to see Richo give him the number 12.... Dont think we need to give a KPP the number 12 as we dont need the comparisons in my opinion.....

If 1 gets used it will be by Newman , which will
most likely mean Cotchin will be 17 . Lmao !!
Just wondering if anyone has considered that 2 might become available ?

No real logical reason, as I say I am pretty ambivalent on the number issue, as long as he is happy with the Tigers & signs on for a number of years he can play with whatever number he wants/gets. (Still reckon 00 would be cool if allowed)

The only thing I would say is that he has such a broad, massive back that a bigger number (such as the 36) fills it pretty well... a smaller 'narower' number like 4 or 7 or 6 might get lost amongst all of that brute muscle!!!

(For someone who does not care much I certainly have a lot to say on the matter don't I!)

Agree, only Martin and Nason to get a bump up. But there's also a part of me that would like Martin to stay at 36. If you look at Kouta and a few guys like that, they never changed the number. Possibly Astbury to move up to a lower number as well.

Finish bottom of the ladder (some hope, some don't) and i don't think we should be handing out top 10 jumpers yet. Players numbers should be ugraded to allow space for new players coming in.

No ****ing way should Post get 12, he wants them to earn the high numbers and as it stands Martin and Nason are the only ones that deserve an upgrade on this season so far, and Post certainly will not have earned Richos number by playing an average season at Coburg.
Could see number 12 going to Martin though and he is the most likely to do it justice as well.
