Rather than answering them all, I think we are almost probably favorites for the inaugural test championship given it’s at Lords, if we make it...

Likely to be India vs Aus/NZ

30. Will Australia have more than four different Test captains? Yes (paine will start the decade in Sydney, even if thats his only test as skipper and surely we will have a skipper stand in for a game when a regular is injured - hoping smith gets it back and has it for 5 years though)

At the end of the decade we’ll see who got the most right, and I’ll post updates along the way. Please note these questions refer to men’s matches unless otherwise specified. LOL - Will we all be posting at the end of the decade ?

most times I’d agree with that but Australia’s batting - and India’s as well obviously - still has a lot of question marks in England, and India’s quicks if they’re all on deck could cause a lot of damage there too, just as ours could.
if they square off it could basically come down to Smith vs Kohli and Labuschagne - assuming he continues to impress - vs Pujara.
Wouldn’t say this often but of the three sides you mentioned I’d actually hack New Zealand’s batsmen right at the moment to possibly handle the conditions the best

The question in that list that grabbed me was an ODI triple century.

rohit Sharma has already missed a good opportunity - from memory his 261 came with abit of time to spare (I could be wrong) so he’s a definite candidate

Yeah, it would be a belter with the two bowling lineups.

The outlier is probably Smith given he has 6 tons in England @ 60. vs Kohli's average of 35 and Pujara's average of 29 over there.

Anything can happen in a single match, you watch, if Australia makes it bloody Warner will most likely ton up or Ishant takes 8 for.....

Was out last ball of the innings.

He faced 173 balls - I think you'd need to manipulate the strike well enough to face 200 of the 300 balls, but it's possible.

smith’s absolutely got more creds in the bank. I think the other pair are capable though - I don’t think it is an inherent deficiency in fast bowler friendly conditions as such, as much an anomaly as anything.

I’d obviously bank on Smith over the other two. I wonder if, given the shootout style of the format, India would take a chance on someone mercurial like Sikhar Dhawan

Given it's 1.5 years away, will be interesting to see where everyone stands as well.

Smith still in god mode?

Warner be turning 35 that summer.
Lyon also turning 35 that summer.

Aussie quicks will be right in their prime.

Pujara and Kohli both turning 33, so will be in their primes.

Ishant will be 33.

etc etc.

hopefully Shaw and Pant have fully established themselves by then too. Would make India a more dangerous side

i wonder whether that will now be a retirement line eg. like the AFL , it's the end of a 'season' as such.

actually it'll interesting to see which format warner decides to retire first in (as he plays all 3 formats).

I have a feeling England will come back into the conversation with a strong 2020 home season. It's so hard to win a series against even a poor english side in English conditions. Their current series doesn't count for any points too so won't do too much damage. They also come up against a pretty lacklustre South Africa soon I think?

From memory he got out in the 38th over? I was following it on Cricinfo at the time because a triple century was almost certain the way he was hitting them.
OK, all double centuries in ODI cricket

Rohit Sharma 264 vs Sri Lanka 2014 dismissed off last ball
Martin Guptill 237* vs West Indies 2015 innings went full 50 overs
Amelia Kerr 232* vs Ireland 2018 innings went full 50 overs
Belinda Clark 229* vs Denmark 1997 innings went full 50 overs
Virender Sehwag 217 vs West Indies 2011 dismissed at 46.3 overs
Chris Gayle 215 vs Zimbabwe 2015 dismissed off last ball
Fakhar Zaman 210* vs Pakistan 2018 innings went full 50 overs
Rohit Sharma 209 vs Australia 2013 dismissed at 49.3 overs
Rohit Sharma 208* vs Sri Lanka 2014 innings went full 50 overs
Sachin Tendulkar 200* vs South Africa 2010 innings went full 50 overs

As an aside, D’Arcy Short 257 vs Queensland 2018 dismissed at 45.2 overs

I must be losing the plot then. I could've sworn there was a match where someone was going beserk and got out suddenly. Or maybe Rohit hit 200 in the 38th over of his 264

1. Will there be a Test total of 800+?
No

2. Will there be a Test total of less than 50?
Yes

3. Will there be an individual Test score of 350+?
Yes

4. Will there be a first-class individual score of 400+?
No

5. Will an Australian make a Test score of more than 335?
No

6. Will there be a Test 10-wicket haul taken in an innings?
No

7. Will Australia win a World Test Championship?
No

8. Will Australia win an away Test series in India?
No

9. Will Australia win an away Ashes series?
Yes

10. Will Australia lose a home Ashes series?
Yes

11. Will any nation play their first Test match?
No. The number of Test nations wil reduce. Zimbabwe will again withdraw, and West Indies and Ireland may also do so.

12. Will there be any calendar year in which at least half of the Tests are day-night matches?
Yes

13. Will there be an ODI total of 500+?
No

14. Will there be an individual ODI score of 300+?
No

15. Will there be an ODI World Cup with more than 10 teams participating?
No. Too much chance a major drawcard going through a rough trot could miss qualification. edit: Somehow I read that as "less than 10 teams".
More than? Probably not.

16. Will there be a T20I total of 300+?
Yes

17. Will there be a T20I score of 200+?
No

18. Will Australia win a T20 World Cup?
Yes

19. Will the Sheffield Shield remain at no fewer than 10 H&A matches per team per season for the whole decade?
Sadly not

20. Will any new teams be introduced into the Big Bash League?
Third teams in Sydney and Melbourne, Gold Coast, Canberra

21. Will any Australian venue host its first Test?
If the winter series returns, which seems unlikely, possibly Townsville (which I think has had ODI but not a Test). CA seem to only want five home Tests a summer from now on, so unless one ground is out of action there won't be a summer one.

22. Will Australia play a Test in Pakistan?
Yes, but not until the second half of the decade.

23. Will Australia have a specialist leg-spinner play 30+ Tests?
No

24. Will anyone (apart from Jimmy Anderson) reach 600 Test wickets?
No, teams won't play enough Tests

25. Will any Australian reach 500 Test wickets?
No

26. Will the record for the fastest Test century be broken?
Yes

27. Will Steve Smith end with a Test average of higher than 60?
I'll say no, his technique might fall apart as he gets toward the end of his career. And he may end up playing about two years too many.

28. Will Virat Kohli end with more ODI runs than Sachin Tendulkar?
Quite possibly, but that won't make him the better player

29. Will any Australian player miss an international match due to being suspended for cheating (e.g. ball-tampering, spot-fixing)?
Yes

30. Will Australia have more than four different Test captains?
Not full time ones, but yes (odds are there will be two by half way through 2020, Paine for one game in Sydney; Smith back for the series in Bangladesh)

The way he was hitting them that day (admittedly on a tiny ground), he would have gotten seriously close to 300 I reckon, was just ridiculous

I'm genuinely intrigued by this.

The earliest I could find was Short getting to 200 in the 41st over. Rohit did it at over 45.3. He was 100 off 100 and did the next 164 off 73. Crazy stuff.
