My thoughts:

I would counsel moderation to Brett Ratten - try and instil some confidence and stability, but that would seem unlikely given statements to the media and media reactions to the loss

Funnily enough I’d rather be playing a top side. Could drop who we like as reality is that prob couldn’t win anyway. Playing Norf makes it interesting. Got to make changes to make a statement but really can’t afford to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Seb Ross has been on borrowed time for a while, is a jogger...lacks aggression & urgency. Pointless starting him in the centre square not tough, quick or clever enough.
I’d bring in Ben Long, tell him to play his natural game & if he gets suspended so be it
He is basically the only one on our list who hits packs hard & at speed, something that was highlighted last week again. Leo Connelly must be tried as we desperately need leg speed. So Long for aggression & Connelly for speed is a start. Coffield should play if only because he’s talented & young & can be taught. McKernan for Hunter is not an upgrade as bad as McKernan was last week. Lonie or Butler should go, Lonie has less tricks & only one leg so prob him. Mason Wood will prob be picked against his old side but not sure is good move as might be Battle who goes & he has been played all over the place & may be better just settling him in one spot for a while. As for Hill, I’d keep him, without Gresham & Ryder/Marshall combo he is one of our few points of difference.
My thoughts got what it’s worth.

Changes
IN: Wood, Dunstan, Clavarino, Coffield
OUT: Lonie, Geary, Frawley, Webster

Need to cut loose some half back players to make changes.
THROW AROUND THE MAGNETS.
WE HAVE THE PLAYERS.

1. DUNSTAN
Tell him to show us what he can do as an inside mid at AFL level.

2. WOOD
Couldnt handle half forward. Its a hard postion. So put him on the wing. He is a great kick and has a massive tank.

3. ROSS
he can fill half back tagging roles.
Younger fitter than geary / webster.
He played one of his best games in defense. we cant have 4 inside mids playing that role. Time
for new role.

4. CLAVARINO
Its time. playing the roos. FFS play this AA U18 gun. He may stand up. Hes been okay in VFL.

5. BILLINGS
Move to half forward. He is a half forward specialist. get him off the wing / half back.

6. KING
Keep him deep. he is a great mark and 204cm. FFS keep him
deep and kick it properly to him.
Stop having him roam up the ground. Falling for opposition gameplan. PLAY OUR WAY.

7. MEMBREY
get out of Kings way. share the wing attacking forward with wood.

8. BUTLER and HIGGINS
follow KING around deep. get his crumbs. stay deep ffs.

9. BATTLE
defense. He plays great with a tagging role.

We have the players. PLAY THEM
IN THE CORRECT POSITION.

Wilkie (def) Clavarino Sinclair (hback attacking)
Ross (tag) Howard (int) Battle (tag)
Wood (wing) Steele Hill (qback)
Billings (forward) Membrey (wing) Clark (wing)

Butler - King - Higgins (deep forwards)

Ryder - Crouch Dunstan

interchange
Hunter (have to reward vfl form - last chance)
Byrnes / Bytel (future mids)
Coffield (ffs - stand by him)

oooo well I had the INS right. lol

just hopefully they thinking the same re: ross to defence, wood to the wing etc.
