Guy's you are all reading the teams wrong!
we will get up and over them this week.
Crows by 23 points.
I'm serious.
Port are firing on 3 cylinders and we have quite a few players begining to click.

I am so much looking forward to Primus vs Hudson, he don't know whats coming ;) :D

I refuse to to give my choice until i consult my hudu-guru ...
Your hoodoo guru will say:
Port are in Another World.
You lot are getting better but Big Deal, it's still gonna be Like Wow Wipeout.
If you think you're gonna win, you might as well start thinking about Castles in the Air.
The Port supporters there will make you feel like you are In the Echo Chamber.
The only way you'll think you have won is if you have an Hallucination.
Port have a Son of a Gun but you lot don't.

And even though it is very tempting, I will not use the song Turkey Dinners. :p :D

With all of Port's injuries and suspensions I was confident we could give it a real crack - until I saw Sunday's game.
"With all of Ports injuries and suspensions" I was worried until I saw Saturday night's game. The Crows will lift on Sunday but I think we have the class, our new guys look the goods and after last year we shouldn't be complacent.

Port by more than 8 points.

It wasn't the new guys who were the real goods on Saturday night. It was Tredrea, Primus, Walsh, James and Francou who steered them to victory - a fair average age in that lot.

I do like the look of Damon White though - a forward on the rise. Just the type we need but lack down at West Lakes.

I will picking the ferals for the game by about 3 goals, I dont think we are anywhere near our best. Still to negative and unsure when moving forward a lot of the time.

I still concerns me that I cant see a group of young leaders coming through as yet, and we seem to have a lot of players who are good one week and fade the next.

Macca and roo are not getting any younger as well as Goodwin, so we need some gun mids around the place.

BTW when Port Adelaide play the Kangaroos will ‘ferret head’ ask ‘choco’ how he intends to beat their “daddy’, I think not. We are not the ones with any sort of inferiority complex

Yeah. Sounds like it.

Chad Cornes will have a field day if we go inside our 50 like we did against Collingwood.

True.

Conversely if his opponent perches out on a flank and we look for him, he'll get a million kicks.

Chad Cornes's stats on Saturday night looked good, but god he was loose - totally unaccountable and ran around like a feral dog unleashed. Coughed up 2 goals as well.

I hope he plays the same this week-end, and we actually use the ball.

The last comment is the area that will let us down though. :(

1, With our forward line defence is our only option, and the only way to play port.

2, it's only round 3 and there are a few players that look possible to develop into the right way. Thompson, Hudson, Johncock, Hentschell , ect
The season is very young and most 200+ game players have had consistency problems in their first couple of years.

Remember Macca was traded because of inconsistency, Edwards was a hack one week mediocre the next for at least 2 seasons.
Just be patient.

I just expect us to fire this week to blanket their run and choke their space, a very ugly win for us

Aye, he was abysmal - but I wasn't complaining with the Dream Team points he accrued ;) That effort on the goalline when Merrett was allowed to soccer through - with Darryl Wakelin standing behind the line watching - was truly ugly stuff, and the two would've certainly heard about it both during/after the game and in the match reviews from Choco.

But this is part of what scares me. Chad is due to return to form. And nothing will suit him more than floating about our forward-50 picking off those pies we saw at the Dome. Hopefully his form slump can hold just that extra week, even if it means another 22 kicks worth 66 points. ;)

My concern was that we might not be able to cover the loss of the Burgoynes, Bishop etc. Chaplin, Pettigrew, White and Ebert not to mention Shattock and Walsh who are new to our team showed the real depth we have at present. Without them having done so well I would have been doubtful of a Port win.

That's right of course, and they all contributed to the win.

But the big guns - forgot Kane Cornes before - were the matchwinners.

The fact that Port will have 6 to 7 of their best-22 doesn't sway me. They still have their best 3 on the park (Tredrea, Chad & Kane) and Primus/Francou/James ares starting to get fit and look dangerous. Of our best-22, only Burton and Ladhams will be missing...possibly Hart as well.

I note with interest, that despite all their injuries Port - in round 2 - still fielded an older and more experienced side than us. An excellent reflection of the depth of their squad, if nothing else.

What it does mean is that the sides are now fairly evenly matched talent-wise, which wouldn't have been the case if the Burgoynes, Pickett, Bishop, etc. were playing.

So, on the night, it may come down to the team with the self-belief and inbuilt winning mentality that will get over the line. And, that my friends unfortunately equates to Port by 15-30 pts.

Carnnn Crowies!

Unfortunately I'll be driving to melbourne on Sunday whilst the match is on.

Don't be too pessimistic syd. It's not just "inbuilt winning mentality" but the desire to win. That is what got the Crows home in round 7 last year by 32 points. I'm tipping Port to win but am never overly confident in Showdowns.

Be very careful. I was driving my family home during the last quarter on Sunday and they'll tell you it was the scariest drive of their lives. :D

Crows by 60 points.

Without Carr to put the shackles on Roo he will dominate the centre clearances feeding the ball out to the fleet footed Andrew "Pharlap" McLeod who will weave through the black white and teal witches hats and kick six goals.

Chad Cornes will be benched in the third quarter after his opponent Perrie has kicked five goals and handed out a few more.

McGregor will hold Tredrea to one goal. Edwards and Goodwin will provide plenty of run through the centre while Johncock will single handedly keep Ebert and Wanganeen to one disposal each.

And then you woke up and realised you shouldn't be doing that :D

The hardest thing to pick out of this game is that in a lot of the previous showdowns Port have had a lot of confidence to play in front of the ball and have burned us with pace . The fact burgoynes and picket are out and with no carr to feed the ball forward will they play this unaccountable footy . With Roo and now Thompson as 2 hard, in and under players this could be the advantage we exploit.

Once getting the ball we need to think and use it . There was a lot of talk we would take the short option when attacking if the long option is not available but this was definately not the case last week. The forwards were just crucified with the delivery.

No matter what else happens the key to the game is Tredrea!

all being well crows by 9 pts of course this is absolutely with no confidence

Crows by 4 goals. If we can't win this one, when Port have 30% of their premiership side out, then we really do need to swing the axe..
On Sunday the bastard child of the PAFC is going to meet it's Daddy! :D :D
