So based on your maths he gets 50% of his goals from free kicks 🤔. Anyway he’s 5’7” opponents need to learn how to tackle properly!

Hope you and everyone enjoy the Wizard show over the next decade 👍
Will the fans have those awful Harry Potter hats in the stands to celebrate the Wiz or was that just a 2024 thing?

You can buy official ones now, Gav.

Send me your address and I’ll shout you one. 😂

I'm gonna be brazen, Brisbane miss finals completely, Port v Hawthorn grand final, Port finally win premiership under Hinkley which makes Port fans mad. Crows slump to Wooden Spoon and fire Nicks.
Port fans have a free run this year.
If Power go poorly - It is Kens fault.
If Power go well - It is Carr's influence.
Big call though on the Port V Hawks GF, as I can see both of them missing finals.

Premiers - Carlton

Coaches gone - Hinkley, Goodwin, Scott

Goes into the 8 - Fremantle, Gold Coast

Goes out of the 8 - Port Adelaide, Hawthorn

Coleman - Nick Larkey

Brownlow - Tom Green

Rising Star - Sid Draper

Can i have what you're on? must be some good gear. with the list the crows have and pre season they are having etc they are primed to make the 8. 0.0 chance to get near the bottom 4/spoon.

Either way, we will botch the handover to Carr as we probably execute too late and the finals chances are gone.

My prediction is that everyone who thinks they're savvy in predicting Freo and Hawthorn to make top 4 are going to be brought back down to earth only a couple of months into the season.

Hawks went on a brazen run, it won't happen again, they're just not that good or stacked across the ground yet. Teams main focus will be combatting those small forwards and setting up better on defensive transition.

Freo are a poor team coached by a poor coach. 2 player additions is going to change stuff all. Will see the same dour football with the odd decent win thrown in to keep the media and 'i told you so's' interested.

Collingwood won't be any better or worse, battling for the 8, wouldn't be surprised if they miss again.

Carlton, same old, comfortably finish in the bottom end of the 8 and complain about injuries despite everyone having injuries.

1st. Geelong
2nd. Brisbane
3rd. Swans
4th. Port

No one is challenging other than those 4.

Sacked: Longmuir, Nicks

And I think Macrae's philosophical primary school teacher approach at collingwood is going to get tiresome and will start losing the playing group.

Whilst I get what you’re saying you’re basically predicting that everything stays pretty much the same. That rarely happens.

What changes happen? I have absolutely no idea. But history suggests that changes will happen to the finals teams.

I'll comfortably suggest that it will be easier to 'work out' Sydney than Hawthorn.

Considering the elite level all Hawthorn's smalls (Moore, Watson, MacDonald, Ginnivan, Breust, possibly Hardwick) are capable of performing at, it will take some serious defensive efforts to limit the influence of all of them at once.

Our defensive end will be A grade with the additions of Battle and Barrass, and Newcombe and Day are entering their prime in the midfield.

Stopping Sydney requires two things.
1. Play them on Grand Final day.
2. Stop at least 2 of Heeney, Gulden and Warner from being best of ground.

The faster that clubs devise ways to achieve the latter, the faster Sydney will come back to the pack.

It happens to some teams not all teams. I think along with hawks dropping out significantly all other major shifts will come from the teams I haven't mentioned. Take your pick who goes into the 8 I'm just very confident it won't be freo and pies will struggle to scrape in

Sydney is past the hawthorn stage. We had the exact same year you guys had last year in 2022. Came flying out of oblivion to make a granny with the third youngest list in the comp.

Basically imagine you guys made the granny this year.. that's what we did in 22 minus the media fap fest. Then the next year we flopped because we didn't have the maturity and teams figured us out. Since then we've matured again with still some to go but we are well and truly a top tier team now very much in the window.

Hawks time might come in a couple of years of all goes well

I've taken as much bias as possible out of my viewpoint, but a young team on the rise has added two ready made stars and other sides around them (Brisbane, Carlton, Dogs, Giants, Port) have lost best 22 players without necessarily replacing them in the off-season.

The 'vibe' and 'gut feel' aren't really predictions based on on factual evidence.
Anybody saying 'Hawks will be found out and not make the finals' are basically using those as their key reasons.

Now, it absolutely COULD happen. Anything is possible. But if my yearly predictions for Geelong's demise has taught me anything it's that wishing for something and expecting something can be two very different things.

I agree with this. The poster saying the Swans were like the '24 Hawks is kidding himself. Yep they were young but NO they had no forwards. They barely got past the Pies in the '22 Prelim and got smacked in the Granny not by the fact that they were "young"....they got smacked because they lack even ONE dominant tall forward. Geelong had Hawkins and Cameron to aim at.

Hawks have a very flexible forward line stacked with quick and clever small forwards but punctuated by Lewis, Chol, Gunston, Dear and probably Sicily and Hardwick at different stages.

Swans still paying the price for building a club around Buddy....they lack real power forwards and have since Goodes retired.

Been hearing that for years, but The Crows rely on their veterans too much, their younger players aren't pulling their weight. Some of my "wild" predictions in the past have come true, like Geelong missing finals in 2023, and Hawthorn making finals in 2024.

I’m interested to hear why you think Brisbane will miss the finals?
Similar to Geelong 2023, aged list and they made the most with the last time their squad will be collectively be in their prime again. I think winning the premiership is enough to satisfy the aged players, doubt they'll have that drive again.

So much so they will miss the finals hey, you sound the kind of bloke I would like to have an enormous wager with before the season starts. We have lost 1 player, likely to bring in 3/4 that will strengthen us and as far as I know we still playing games on the Gabba. I think you are wrong.
