Disappointing end to the season. Smashed in the middle. Tried to play too much dry footy in the first half. Too many good players unsighted or poor today too.
Unlucky with a few fwd frees that were missed, but that’s to be expected against the Dees.

Felt like I was watching a Demons Members stream, just constantly bashing on how good Daisy is and how good Melbourne are and how much they deserved this blah blah. Bloody annoying.

the plus is Harris didn't have the impact she had last time. Maybe us focusing on her allowed the other Melb forwards to get those out the back goals, but Monahan did a great job.
Bates was superb all game. Grider was great too. Svarc was a tackling machine, and it was so congested she didn't get to use her speed much. Davidson was our only consistent marker of the ball which was good, but wanted some better offloads from her. The list of players who did super well but just lacked a bit of polish was pretty high which is annoying.
Conway continues to impress me one week and make me angry the next
Hickey had a great season, shame it ended vsing the type of ruck she did. Too much core strength so Hickey needed to engage with the leap timed to perfection and sadly didn't get it all the time.
Did Melb have someone tagging O'Dwyer? she was a bit quiet. Hodder was really trying to get into the game later on, but with our entries she didn't have the opportunity to get on the lead it seemed
Good season by the girls, they'll be devastated by the loss. Some crappy scheduling but if we wanted to back it up we needed to be more clean. Onto next year!
Lets hope with the scheduling conflicts with gaelic football we can still get O'Dwyer for the next season.

I'm really starting to hate Melbourne now, in AFL & AFLW
Them & Adelaide (in the AFLW). Really want Port to thoroughly gut the Crows. Don't think it'll happen but hopeful. They would never have made a possible 4th GF if they had to put up with what we did, NM taking almost our entire midfield in one fell swoop then GC getting 7 of our players. Having said that if the Crows win today I want to see them decimate Melbourne.

I just don't want Daisy Pearce to retire with a premiership to her name. Her voice is unbearable on commentary, I actually somehow prefer Kelly Underwood on commentary. She shouldn't be allowed to call Melbourne matches as there's a conflict of interest & a clear bias there.

Fair enough but she personally gives me a headache. Yes she has good insight into the game but her voice is grating.

Missed the game as we headed off on a big road trip as a fam today. Was driving for most of the day. Finally convinced the wife to drive for a bit and hastily checked the scores. Was shocked to see we lost. I thought we were absolute certainties. Oh well, maybe Melbourne deserve a bit more credit than I was prepared to give them.
Disappointing result after a year of good footy, wet weather and a loose 3rd qtr didn’t help, some didn’t stand up today and as always we get the wrong end of the umpiring , that’s footy ! Only 4points away from a grand final , use that as motivation going into next season girls !

If anyone watched the post match from starcevich some ominous comments from him. He went on a bit of a rant concerning expansion offers and compared it from what has been reported with bulldogs. Sounds like he knows we may be heavily raided. Can’t see who we would obviously lose, but concerned

Negatives: Bates wasn't quite her best today. More at a normal player's level than her own. Conway unusually fumbly. Wardlaw couldn't catch a cold. O'Dwyer well held, and Hickey not as influential as she has been.
On the other hand... Best game Grider has ever played. BOG for mine. Monahan huge. Daks and Bodey did well. Cathy just trucking.
Umps were fairly consistent between the teams, but were completely inconsistent with every other game this season. Put the whistles away before the game began. Refused to pay forward 50 frees no matter what happened. Dees adjusted to this quicker than us.
Ah well we get Lutkins back and go again.
