I ordered my tickets over the internet.

Out of interest, as ive never done this for finals tickets before, do you need the finals card when you go to pick your tickets up?
If you're talking about your membership card - yes, you very definitely need to take it. They will not hand over the tickets without it, and they need to punch out the relevant finals week number on the card.

What do you mean by "finals card"? You'll need your season tickets when you collect your tickets, as well as the credit card you used to book them with.

Yeah, i meant members card. Ive just got finals on the mind, thats all.

Jolly good.

What if you waited until the general public are buying tickets... would they still ask for it then?

I only ask because my mother was foolish enough to by my father a ticket, which exceeds the number of cards we have. Waste of her money otherwise id assume.

I would assume that for each ticket booked between now and Saturday, you'll need a season/members ticket ... otherwise any season ticket-holder could go ahead and book as many tickets as they like (regardless of how many season tickets they have) then just wait until Saturday to pick them up.

Hmmm, I hate to say it, you may have a problem. For the QF last week, I picked up my tickets quite late in the week and I was asked to produce the membership(s).

Foolish BASS workers aside, because they print out the tickets on the spot when you pick them up, it may well be that the computer system will say "THIS PERSON NEEDS TO PRODUCE MEMBER'S CARDS" when they order up the tickets. And then you will have a problem. Unless

1. You can borrow a season ticket from someone who is not using theirs (to buy tickets).

BigFooty community may be able to help?

2. Be prepared to grovel to the Club for help. There's no way BASS can or will help you, but maybe the Club can issue a "dispensation" - it may even be beyond their control, being an AFL-controlled game, but it's worth a try.

If they don't sell out completely on members (ie there are tickets left over for the general public) then there's no real impact on the "general public" - you haven't taken a ticket that wouldn't have been available to you anyway.

If you can't organise 1., I'd be lining up 2. Perhaps call the Club tomorrow and plead your case.

Buying concession tickets is a schemozzle.

Last week we got both my kids student cards from them, one actually paid full price to travel on public transport as he is facing a $140 fine if he doesn't have his student card on him, and when we went to BASS to get tickets didn't need the student cards as they said you just have to show them at the gate when going through the turnstiles.

Today, we couldn't buy tickets for the kids, unless we paid full price, because we didn't bother with their cards due to the previous week's experience. But this week we had to produce them at point of sale and, as my son is in the country on work experience this week, we cannot get them until next week.

So we booked them online and will have to make another trip to BASS with the cards. Don't the powers that be realise that if students are using public transport they need their student cards. But more to the point, why one rule last week and another this week?

I have only ever been asked once to show my concession card when buying a ticket from Bass. But most of the time my parents just go and buy the tickets when I'm not even there and they never ask for a concession card. I suppose it just depends on who is serving, they should really only ask for it the gate

just got home from work. has anyone heard how many tickets were sold today?

edit: never mind. saw in the other thread 26,000+ :)
