I was thinking about how WCE would thank the Margetts family
Honestly though why promote or give his sister a bonus when tax would apply?
She will leave work tomorrow with a shopping bag full of cash

Maybe the whole Margetts family can do all the membership promotional work for 2016 and of course invite Ray Chamberlain along too. I know a how about Margetts Patron membership, comes with a umpire whistle and the re written rule book for WCE home games, ie marking ball is a sheppard, legs taken from under the player is holding the ball, etc etc.

Bunch of maggots, gave it to WCE on a silver platter, some shocking decisions.

If anyone has the details about where those pricks live please share it....

Was thinking more about helping her carry it ;)

Geez, the Jacobs trip looks worse and worse every time I watch it.
How can you justify that? At such a critical point in the game.
In the scheme of things, Im processing critical moments in the game that cost us but that is going to stand out like dogs balls for now.

Disgusting.

If only we had 27 umpires one of them would have been sure to see it and/or have the courage to dash in and overrule the other 26. Or maybe not!

@DanielCherny: Wayne Campbell says the Shuey free kick and the Jacobs trip were both incorrectly adjudicated @RealFooty1 @theagesport

Gee, I feel so much better now!! NOT!!

And what about the rest of the stuff ups, Campbell?

He sounded pretty filthy . Made the comment that they would look at what umpires could umpire the grand final and allow the game to flow

They should get the guys who did the VFL GF. They were great. Let the players play, no prancing and posturing, no smart arse remarks to the players (the real stars of the show).

Sadly, the poor buggars have got no hope of making it into the big time unless they change their act.

Well hopefully some good may come out of the train wreck that was the umpiring and we finally get something resermbling appropriate professionalism that has nobody with a clear conflict of interest taking charge of these games.

We must be the only elite level sport that allows an obvious bias to not only exist but to continue.

Get ****in serious AFL and clean up this sham.

I truly don't understand the mentality of Eagles fans. This is a North board, for North fans, and a logical place to express frustration and disappointment after a loss. Why are they here? They should just be enjoying their win. The last thing I would have done after the Hobart win was go to the Eagles board. It was the same at the game. When we kicked a goal we celebrated amongst ourselves. When they kicked a goal they were more intent on trying to goad us than celebrating the goal. They're a weird mob.
They know the win is tainted mate.

Silver spoon meth does that.

Shuey Incident: free everyday of the week. You aren't allowed to stand there and have someone dive into your body lightly. Anyone who has a clue about footy knows that.

Darling Free Kick: Robbie should know by now that your not allowed to breath near somebody like he so blatantly did on Saturday night. Especially somebody who can be lying on the ground and magically jump to his feet, like Sir Jack Darling can. Robbie is lucky he didn't receive a yellow card.

Swallow on the mark: don't tell me the game has got so soft that blokes cant even tackle guys standing on the mark now. I know we can be one-eyed, but don't turn this game into netball. Next you blokes will be wanting a free when a guy goes to tackle and takes out a guys legs.

Jacobs incident: I found Jacobs to be selfish here and deserved to be holding the ball. Great tackle by shuey straight across Jacobs legs.

Wow ! what about the Swallow incident and also the Tarrant one as well...

The free against Jarred Waite for shepherding as well.
How can a free kick be paid against you for shepherding, when you are actually using your body to hold position against an opponent who is running behind you, so that you take a mark. And he did take the mark. defies logic.

It might be somewhat vindicating to receive that acknowledgement, but unfortunately those words can't give us back a 12 point turnaround at crucial points of the game and the associated momentum.

I actually forgot about that one. It says something about the number of horrific decisions that a free kick paid that would normally be talked about for ages after the game is almost forgotten in the face of the multitude of other terrible decisions.

Which Tarrant one, as far as I could see there were two.
One where he was called form holding some 60 meters off the ball and the second where he was two handed pushed in the back that stopped him from incepting the ball carrier and lead to an easy eagles goal.

Counted 10 times Goldstein's jumper being pulled away from his body in ruck contests and not a single free.

Let's see how serious the AFL Umpiring division is about professionalism, because no organisation in the world could reward any of those peanuts on Saturday night with a GF umpiring appointment.

If they do you know the system is a complete sham.

Nic Nat was constantly holding Goldy's arm when he fell behind in the contest. Not one ruck infringement which is astounding!

The fix was in on Saturday night, we just made it noticeable by being more competitive than anticipated, which led to them having to resort to the ludicrous to get them back in the contest.

The biggest give away was how the standard of umpiring changed from quarter time. 1st Quarter game let go without hardly any intervention. 2nd Quarter North on top and game in danger of getting away from West Coast, cue the circus!

I spent a couple of painful hours this morning watching the game again. Nothing that I saw changes my view of just how badly we were treated by the umpires. If anything it feels worse.

As for the free against Waite, unless my eyes deceived me, Sinclair's first move towards the marking contest was to push Goldy fair square in the back with both hands. As the whistle went Goldy had his arms up calling for the free.

So as I said, unless my eyes deceived me, the moron made two incorrect decisions on the one marking contest.

Obviously if it was Margetts, he was practicing for his later two incorrect decisions on the Jacobs trip.

Truly, truly, truly ineptitude of the highest degree.

If either of Chamberlain or Margetts gets the GF, it will be a total disgrace.

Mark Knight must be a Roo fan, that is an uncanny likeness of Margetts :thumbsu:

Our contribution to the AFL can be measured in the amount of $$$ we generate. 7 Friday Night matches in prime time proves that.

There was a time when One Direction were considered the biggest band in the world but that doesn't mean they had any talent, just that they had a lot of delusional fans. In fact, I think under that notion, Richmond ARE the biggest club in the competition. I'll stick with the never say die club that wins finals not the keel over and die at the slightest hint of pressure or expectation club with the delusional yet infinitely unsatisfied fans though. Thanks for another laugh!

Asked if the late-season environment becomes "irrational" Campbell agreed instantly. "I would have thought so. That's the easiest question you've asked," he said.

"When commentators are calling decisions 'horrific' and then 10 seconds later a player makes an equally I would say 'bad' decision and it's called 'interesting', I think there's too great a disparity in the commentary," Campbell said.

Campbell admitted that two of the controversial decisions that went against North Melbourne were wrong, but that at least one off-the-ball free paid to Hawthorn was right. Asked whether the slight hold made by Nick Dal Santo on Eagle Luke Shuey should have been paid to the home side, Campbell replied " don't think so, no." He added that North tagger Ben Jacobs should have received a free in the final term after having his legs taken from under him. "Yes ... we review everything today ... that's my view on it but we'll let the coaches decide."

Questioned about the contentious calls in the previous night's Hawthorn win over Fremantle, Campbell said he wasn't yet sure about the correctness of the off-the-ball decision paid in Hawk Isaac Smith's favour for contact made by Docker Hayden Ballantyne. "We're still yet to go through that one but the questions that will be asked are 'was it forceful enough? If it's not a free kick does that mean that when someone's not facing you you can knock them over?'"

Another off-the-ball free paid to Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge was right to be paid though. "The Hodge one was a free kick. I saw that on the night, he got him high."

Assessing the weekend as a whole, Campbell acknowledged that there had been issues, but said he had not felt any pressure from AFL chief Gillon McLachlan or football operations boss Mark Evans.

"We were OK. It wasn't our best performance I wouldn't have thought, but our job now is to make sure we get the grand final performance to the best possible standard that we can.

"We need to pick three umpires plus an emergency who will go out and do the job, be unobtrusive, allow the players to shine.

"We made some errors on the weekend, obviously we don't set out to make errors. It's as hostile an environment I've ever seen a game played under. That doesn't make any excuses."

THIS in the comments below-

The problem for us that actually attend the game rather than watch it on TV is we have no idea what is going on half the time with the umpiring decisions and it is not until we get home can we find out. The frustration I felt on Friday night in that first half made we want to never go to a live game again and just be a TV watcher from now on. But for momentum to be in the hands of umpires makes our game look weaker and weaker as a spectator sport.
