This drives me up the wall every week. Every time Ben Brown goes for the mark he is held off the ball by one or two players yet never gets a free. Lay a finger on Josh Kennedy and a free straight away. Did Ben Brown murder one of the umps wives or do they hate Tasmanians?

Doesn't matter.

That underachieving ex Tiger arse clown will come out and admit nothing.

If thats the best 6 field Umpires in the whole land at the moment the competition has problems.

FFS the new media deal should make it compulsory that they are all professional.

Why are you all complaining. Nothing new for the finals. The Eagles free kick count for the 2015 home and away season: For 448 - Against 362. Ie 86 to the better. Sydney Swans, the best tackling team for 2015: For 416 - Against 461. Ie 45 against. That's a massive 131 frees difference over 23 games. My figures were taken from the AFL website. Oh, and no, I'm not a Sydney supporter.

Genuinely sorry for you guys, you looked the better team to me. We were robbed as well in the 2011 PF, also 2001 PF, not as blatantly and we probably would have been smashed in the GF anyway by the Cats and the Lions, but I know how it feels. You just don't give a stuff about the grannie after that. No reason you won't have a great season next year though.

And that 2nd quarter mark Waite they didn't pay because of ... Well I don't know, went straight back into their forward line for goal. When we were hot .

That was quite an extraordinary decision. To me and I believe also the view of the commentators, Waite simply appeared to out manoeuvre Sinclair (I think it was) in the marking contest.

And that's the thing ... we're left say "what if" and we shouldn't have to say that. You and the rest of Nth fraternity should be able to say, we gave it our all but we were beaten fair and square by the better team, but those incompetent moments just take that one saving grace in a loss away. Those calls at key moments, they are killers to fans experience. Commiserations guys, I do feel for you.

Yes, well there were a couple of very bad calls against your boys in the first quarter, on Friday night. Seemed to change the momentum of the game. So commiserations are warranted in return.

I'll have to watch a replay just to see if the umpiring was as bad as I thought it was. I was at the game and the two gimme goals were simply not there. Absolutely terrible. Felt sorry for North.

I don't buy into the conspiracy theories.

But the AFL umpiring department has to invest in finding ways to help to block out parochial home town crowds. They really do struggle with it. Some training and development on this needs to happen.

But on Friday night it was Freo at home who copped the crap decisions.

Agree that tonight the umpiring was terrible....both ways. Norths should have got a shot on goal when Cunnington was tripped accidentally.

The obvious holding free on Kennedy not paid was baffling..........then Tarrant got pinged for holding on Darling that looked like nothing. Similar to Ballantyne getting pinged on Friday night in the first quarter.

Kennedy got crunched high and no free and earlier Waite dived backwards and Wellingham was pinged.

The umpires have had a crap couple of nights and unfortunately this takes away the focus on the contest. Instead of looking at which players did well and did not so well everyone is talking about the crap umpiring.

Its a shame. The AFL needs to invest more in umpiring.

Ray should never umpire again. In my view he was the worst tonight.

Margetts was worse than Ray.

That is saying something...

Just wanted to point out that most of the whinging is from Neutral supporters and not the North posters

What whinging? They're just passing on an observation.

I'm just impressed that North fans don't need to overreact about the loss because of a handful of very questionable frees because when you consider both teams missed heaps of opportunities. North seem to have less players running the game out compared to them. Still proud of the way North pitched in but one too many opportunities were self-imposed whether it was dropped marks or set shots missed.

The dumb losses always come back to haunt you when it comes to ladder standings. Until the players 'get that' ....chasing tail at the bottom end of the season is a big ask to try pull off miracles. But least North didn't embarrass themselves.

Unfortunately all teams that play West Coast at home are going to be on the wrong side of the free kick count it is a solid fact. The worst thing about tonight was the free kicks that were given that were 50/50 at best we're all awarded to the Eagles when the momentum was in the Kangaroos favour, changed the whole complexity of the game.. The year the Eagles won the wooden spoon they were number 1 for free kicks for... Work that out.. A huge problem that the AFL must repair.. Felt sorry for you guys and turned it off half way through the last..

Well let's just agree that they were both absolutely s********. In fact worse than s********.
flipping oath they were. Abysmal.

The ****head Campbell should be arseholed for trotting out these incompetent pricks tonight and last night. There is zero accountability in AFL umpiring... In fact, AFL wide...
