I did not at any point say the Eagles did not deserve.to win, they took their oportunities and won the game,it is not there fault the umpiring was atrocious and very one sided. It also is not a biased Vic commentator thing as you suggest because I think Freo got a raw deal the night before. You seriously think you should of won that game ? North we're just outclassed in the end and Eagle's had more run..But they did show some real spirit and to come from 8th into a prelim was a gallant effort they had a real crack should be proud not blaming the umpires just because the biased VIC commentators we're pointing out Norths bad decisions not the Eagle's
Suspicion is that we probably weren't quite good enough (a few too many passengers), but we'll never really know for sure. That may be the case but we'll never know because the umpires literally stripped all momentum away from us then literally gifted them goals (Shuey high, LeCras non-HTB) and denied us goals (Jacobs trip) with the game in the balance.
West Coast may have been the better side, but this game did not determine it.
I liked how mid way through the last quarter, they pulled out 3 free kicks for North from nothing incidents, in nothing positions, in a very short space of time, to balance the ledger.

What a raw deal on the commentary lolI did not at any point say the Eagles did not deserve.to win, they took their oportunities and won the game,it is not there fault the umpiring was atrocious and very one sided. Do any of you even know what happened with the Darling free kick or are you just assuming seeing as you didn't see it? Being at the game, directly above the incident, it was clear as day he was being held, just like the rest of the night, only it was called then. The Shuey one was there as well, watch the replay, Dal Santo's torso made clear contact with Shuey's head, it doesn't matter if you think that's soft, that's the rules.
Calm down mate, no need to name call, you're just making a c*** of yourself.
I do know the rules of the game mate, you're just trying to bend them to suit your little narrative. He may have been trying to avoid Shuey, but he was the one who ran into Shuey's line and made contact with his head, just finished watching the replay so I actually know what I'm talking about, not just some vague memory during a drunken stupor like yourself.
Yes, you're right you can make contact with your opponent, but you can't hold the jumper, which is what happened, but I guess because Cameron Ling who was 150 metres away from the incident on the boundary, said it was a bad call, that means it was right? The only vision you got was a far camera shot from centre wing, that only captured half of the incident, but somehow you're the expert? Mate, I was directly in line with the Darling incident, in the 2nd tier looking down on it as it happened, his jumper was being held end of story, no matter what you or anyone else who had a shoddy camera view from 150 metres away thinks.
If anybody deserves an umpire reaming next weekend is Hawthorn, they were genuinely gifted goals. End of the day, if you don't want to look at it rationally, and pretend like those 2 decisions weren't there, that's fine, just consider it karma for the Harvery incident in round 10, that actually may have cost us the game, your lot were never going to win tonight.![]()
Yeah like great tackle Goldstein....lands fair in Hurns back !
One eyed idiot supporter sees something from 200 meters away!! I'm convinced...Do any of you even know what happened with the Darling free kick or are you just assuming seeing as you didn't see it? Being at the game, directly above the incident, it was clear as day he was being held, just like the rest of the night, only it was called then. From umpires you goose, who really gives a f*** what commentators think. What a raw deal on the commentary lol
Turner's kick to Waite called play on. If that was Sam Mitchell, perfect pass.
If Darlings was a free, Ben Brown would get a free every entry into our 50
I have never, in my 23 years of existence, said that the umps have decided a result, or at the least put a result in doubt. I would normally defend them, saying "they got the rub of the green, but it happens, if you're good enough, you win."
Last night I sat with 4 neutrals and a West Coast Eagles supporter when I watched the match at my house. The 4 neutrals were all cracking the shits about the umpiring the the Weagles supporter sat there embarrassed. His words after the game were this: "People will say we were the better team, but deep down we just don't know because of that umpiring. Adam Simpson is going into a bloody grand final next week not knowing if his side can beat 8th on the ladder in a preliminary final because we just had it served to us on a platter when we were toast."
And that about sums it up.
We may not have been the better team, but the result has a massive cloud hanging over it. We had them on the ropes. Yes, we kicked poorly, but we were absorbing most of their forward thrusts with absolute ease and composure, and were winning clearances like no tomorrow. Then the dubious frees I50 started to roll in. Players started to question their abilities, worrying over nonexistent technicalities. As the frees piled up in very dangerous scoring positions whilst we were arm wrestling to put them out the match, the entire stadium knew what was happening and the Weagles fans started to get behind their boys. They were gifted 12 points in an incredibly low scoring game at a critical point in the match, and thus the momentum went their way as as soon as we began to build we had the rug pulled out from underneath us by the umpires. We broke after a quarter and a half of this, and although we kept fighting, you could sense that the Eagles had been gifted an open door back into the game and that they'd run over the top of us.
It was a gallant effort by our boys and I want them to go into 2016 with this burning in their gut. I want them to think to themselves "we could have been playing in a grand final if not for some circumstances beyond our control. Let's make sure we put ourselves in a position next year so that those circumstances have minimal effect."
The typical footy supporter who actually don't know the rules and believe the absolute garbage the commentators dribbleFrom umpires you goose, who really gives a f*** what commentators think.
Eagles kicked 10 goals 20 it could of been a flogging it's not hard to see who was the better side...Excellent summation of the situation. Momentum is so key in any game of football. Once it swings and a team opens up a break, particularly as they happened in the third quarter, the opposition begins to react differently as it realises its grasp on the game is slipping.
This is so often the key outcome of bad umpiring decisions. It changes the whole course of the game and no-one can truly say what direction the game might have taken if those Schuey and Darling frees, resulting in goals, had never happened.
It's time to go.......... You. F##$% off.Eagles kicked 10 goals 20 it could of been a flogging it's not hard to see who was the better side...
When even channel 7 highlight them as being blatantly wrong then you know something ain't right.Do any of you even know what happened with the Darling free kick or are you just assuming seeing as you didn't see it? Being at the game, directly above the incident, it was clear as day he was being held, just like the rest of the night, only it was called then. We should be preparing for a GF.
We were robbed.
Eagles supporters at the game have no idea. Boo and hiss then go off their nut for a goal. They actually don't understand the game.
