how is the notoriously cheeky Charlie Haley doing this year any de la? would be interested to track the young fellas going

went down and watch the first half off the dela/beaumaris game and let me tell you this the notoriously cheeky 'charlie haley' your talking about absolutely dominated of what i saw, had about 4 scoring shots in the first quarter followed up with about 15 touches and at half time when i left he had kicked 2 or 3 goals with a few behinds as well as 20+ possessions, him and a guy called luke bada couldve beaten beaumaris them self's.

I dont know why everyone is jumping onto bernies so early and proclaiming the snake pit as some type of a fortress similar to the dairy bell and the wide open spaces of shark park, I watched them play against a rubbish opponent in Melbournians and they fell over the line.

not sure of recent form for either but heard blues managed a very handy recruit from W.A , S.Carr- best afield last game against bedes with 4 goals from the midfield. Not sure of his cultural background but seems to be a ripper

Based on Blacks going down to Beauy who no one rates and Blues win last week, I'd say Blues easy, 10 plus goals!

Rooster24, what happened to you guys on the weekend? Only a 5 point win at home against St Bedes (which happened to lose at home to Uni Blues the week before).

These results are confusing. Did you have a full side in? Seb Gotch was playing as well.

We had a very good side in so no excuses. We kicked very poorly for goal and might have been a bit complacent. A few of our better players very ordinary but full credit to St Bedes. They played very well and were unlucky not to get the points. Much better to have this sort of game then the one we had in rd 2. A good wake up call.

While the tribunal is a bit of lottery I will be absolutely staggered if Nicho gets found guilty.

there wasn't a real major incident. just the way they play footy is a disgrace. always going for the man not the ball. even after they kick a goal they have the nerve to go up to a player who wasn't even involved in the play and start jumper punching them...even when they are 80 points down.

another two yellow cards where handed out to these muppets

oh and their runner...

ps. that ramanathan bloke or whatever his name is was an exception, good player

Great game from St Bedes! Alot of players for them stood up when they needed too.

Tips:

Old Melburnians vs De La Salle - De La will be a class above OM's here on the worst ground in the league! De La by 50

Beaumaris vs Old Xaverians - Beauy is always a hard trip no matter how well they are performing! I wouldnt read anythinh into their 180 point loss to De La. But in saying that Xavs are in form! Should be a good game for 2-3 quarters with Xavs pulling away late to win by 24.

Old Scotch vs St Bedes/Mentone - Clearly the match of the round! Should be a cracker! I'd expect it to be tight all day and it to be a hot footy after watching Scotch last week(did anything happen to one of their coaches in the end last week??) this game could go either way but I see SBMT winning by less then a kick

Uni Blacks vs St Bernards - Should be just a win for Bernies this week and they'll win by 50

Fitzroy vs Uni Blues - The worst team in the league vs a team aiming for the 4! Equals one thing! Blues by 100

The only good thing about that ground is that you can sneek over and have a few pots at the elephant and wheelbarrow after the game.

Do not underestimate the lions ! They have some very good players across the ground like Steinfort, Scott and Patcos.

I agree with yellowbelly in that they will improve in the coming weeks. The ground at Brunswick street has a tricky wind which Fitzroy used very well at times yesterday.

Looks like quite a battle took place at beauy until Xavs turned it on after 3/4 time. Overall the depth of competition is clearly evident !
