In a year as even even as it is from 1-8 (at this stage), how many wins do you think you'll need to make the four and to stay up?

If BERNIES could knock off DLS at home this weekend, they stay in the race and it really tightens things.

Blues have SKOBS which is so important in terms of ladder position. SKOBS win and it tightens, blues win and they get the slightest amount of room near the top.

Blacks should account for carey which will also give them some breathing space. Similar with Trinity.

Someone could sneak in with 10 wins, possibly? Might need 6 to stay up this year with carey looking likely to drop.

OC are "dead meat", gone....................

Bernies need to start winning now. Any Bernie supporter out there tell me who they are going to beat going forward....
Cant see them winning away from home...

FWIW I don't think Collegians have won enough just yet to be comfortable. A taxing game plan that will be hard to sustain all season. I agree though it would take a miracle for Bernies to win say 4 or 5 of their last 10 to remain in Premier. It's a shame for Bernies but it is great again for the comp that both teams that came up from B have been competitive. In past times (not last year), usually one side struggles to be competitive when making the jump.
I am still of the view that B is in its weakest position for a long time which Beauy and Scotch are again showing.

So true...B Grade weakest for years, after the top 3 pretty poor indeed....

Anyone 3 games clear from Bernies at this stage not safe, but getting close...

Bernies had ex AFL player Mitchell fly in for one game from SANFL today, had Caven etc so it's all relative.

Was only a 1 pointer according to foxsportspulse?

Bernies 22/50 points, Skobs 41/50 points.

You really have a chip on your shoulder with all this A grade/B grade talk BS.

Speaking of facts, you didn't mention when OM's spanked you earlier in the year (2015 B grade premiers) and followed up 2 weeks later beating bernies (2015 A grade premiers).

A very open field with the only discerning feature being percentage. OT's, Dela, Blacks and OX being in the 120's and all other contenders in the low 100's...

I think too much emphasis is put on trying to correlate performances of teams from year to year to get a gauge of how strong or weak a division is. It should more likely be based on how competitive or not it is. Clearly there is a gap in standard between the divisions but I don't think you can draw a line on how much of a gap based on performances of teams year on year.

Being ammo's so much changes each year, injuries, travel, coaching changes, retirements, lack of pre-season etc. Some seasons teams just don't perform and you don't know why and next year they are up and about. Pre-season maybe? Lose a couple of early games by a few points, get some injuries and you can have a shocker.

OM's only just made it through to B grade grand final last year and, if you listen to BS, played above themselves while Skobs played below themselves and they should get thrashed this year. Clearly that hasn't happened and I don't think there has been any wholesale changes over there?

Chachi, you are speaking crapiola. How is giving Mitchell a one week permit to play different to Milne last year?

Re OM's, great point, but being a SKOB man I'm not really concerned with what they did, although you being a former coach there would obviously care more than most. Browny has done a sterling job, so have that club. Thomas and a few VFL/SANFL in's have definitely helped.

Re the points, they are innacurate and mean nothing. Nick Cook went to SKC but is a one pointer for Bernies. Mitchell hasn't been anywhere near that club for 5 years and plays interstate but is a one pointer.

Check out D4 for serious points totals, 47 for Box Hill and they lost. 50 out of 50 for Doutta Stars yet they also lost.

Re upcoming overseas trips, I've heard OT, Blacks and Xavier will all be massively impacted. Could be wrong too, but we shall see.

.

who are these VFL/SANFL ins you speak of.

Mitchell played all of his junior footy at bernards.....so he is homegrown meaning 1 point player and Cooke has played at bernards since under 16s! highly doubt the points are incorrect.

I've asked this question before potato. On the weekend they had a few back (on the VFL bye) and Hurley-Wellington played a few games in the SANFL three years ago, but I don't know of any SANFL recruits since him.

Angus Clarke is from the SANFL I believe.

On the subject of VFL players. St Bernard have a number of players running around for the Essendon VFL team who were one of just two teams to play last weekend. They have a bye this round so, assuming they get released, the Snowdogs should be pretty strong this round.

The other team was Richmond, where SKOB have 5, so it was a nil all draw.
Bernies have Peart and Schroder, no one else. Schroder is heading overseas for the rest of the year, unlikely to play for Bernies this weekend, then one more at VFL.

Isn’t Alex Macleod aligned to the Bernies? He certainly was last year

Which 5 of the Richmond VFL team that played Saturday (apart from Ash Morris) are SKOB players?

Remember, to read any logic from Briza's stats, you have to multiply (or divide as they case may be) by 2 and subtract (or add as the case may be) to get close to the real figure.

So your telling me that Richmond’s VFL team on Saturday did not actually contain five SKOBs players?

Further to that, he has played senior football for St. Bernards since 2011 anyway.

Luke Mitchell also a 1 point player at OM's - ex 1st XV111 Captain at Melbourne Grammar. Mitch Wilkins also ex SANFL. Playing at Sandringham.

FWIW I'm pretty sure Ivan Maric signed with SKOB at the start of the season.

Turn it up.........how could anything he has alledged to have signed for 2016 with Skobs be valid when he already has a contract with Richmond!!!

(We are talking about the Richmond Maric arent we?).....
