Agree re Paul. Gun. Was a gun at Oakleigh, Werribee, then Dees.
There's also a triple premiership coach at Kew that goes alright.
Nice to have a little coach appreciation. Beats any bagging.
#loveyourcoaches

Just don't compare oranges and apples ok?

A TAC Cup/VFL senior/AFL assistant /Premier coach

-v-

D3/D2/D1/Premier C ammo coach.

Got a long way to go to be in the same conversation IMO. Satterley is "head and shoulders" the best coach in the VAFA.

The Coll head coach has revolutionized coaching down there. Finished 8th in "15" probably be 8th in "16" after his first year. Lost 10 Senior players from last years list.

It seems things are going to get ugly out at Carey tomorrow. Blues with an extremely strong outfit. Only the rain will affect the margin.

Same can't be said on the other side of the main. Blacks will find the going hard without some of their better players. Hamilton and Iezzi are about as big as it gets in terms of inclusions for Trinity.

Great ins. And just in the nick of time. Post Scribe Trinity was starting to flounder. These two players are in the top 10 of the entire comp.
I had Trinity finishing 5th or 6th, but may have to reconsider. I had totally forgotten about Iezzi for 2016 season. Go Scibity!!

Plenty of clubs way below full strength this week it seems but I still fancy the Blacks to win.

Would suggest that the inclusion of Scott last week was bigger than both of the aforementioned. Has been entrenched in Richmond VFL team for 2 seasons and only played due to the VFL bye. He was very good but the team was very poor. I saw Iezzi in the 2s last week. Think both he and the Ts would prefer he have another couple in the ressies but desperate times......

Is Jeremy Taylor (ex Gold Coast and Collingsood VFL) now with the Blues full time? Another handy inclusion if that is the case.

I love how SKOB's are very secretive and don't put their team up on the VAFA site usually until after the game has started but if you click through on match player points, you get the team anyway. Too cute. Looks like they could be 48 tomorrow.

Massive day of A Grade footy. I ventured out to Bulleen to watch Carey v Blues. A Carey legend told me that this was the best side he had seen this year on paper and this seemed accurate as the Panthers took it right up to the Uni lads, and at half time, went in with a 1 goal lead. The Panthers kicked the first of the second half and an upset was brewing.
Enter Mr Quinn. Enter..don't know his name but he wore jumper 41 and kicked 7. Along with J Mcguvin, these three tore Carey apart. Blues are set to give this years flag an almighty shake.
I sent a junior reporter to the Xavier College. Easier to just copy his one report. No point me trying to add to it...
'Huge crowd at Xavier due to a big lunch to celebrate a few legends. SKOB also huge in numbers. Had all the seating behind the goals covered. Quarter 1...Xavs dominate. SKOB crowd giving it to Handley as the 'Duffle' Coates blankets the big bald barnstormer.
Quarter 2 SKOBS accurate, Xavs wasteful. Son of a gun Woods going bananas up forward for the Skobbery. This boy knows how to strut it up.
Quarter 3 and 4...Xavs a little to classy. It may be a mental thing, it may not even be true, but somewhere deep down both Xavier boys and SKOB boys know exactly what the heirarchy of these two schools is.
Xavier just won. Again. It is just the way it is.
I sent another reporter to the Uni and am awaiting his full report. Stay tuned. Has texted that it was a bog and that Trinity are gone. But we all now this.

The bald umpire who field ump today was a ****ing disgrace. How he continually gets to umpire in Premier is a blight on the standard of umpiring in the VAFA and the umpires coach or director or whatever you want to call him.

As far as the footy goes, when this muppet let the lads actually play instead of trying to be the star attraction, well OX were just too good.
A couple of late cheapies to Goss blew the margin out.

Great blue in the third quarter, won by the blue collar Catholics!

As far as your bullshit about the two schools, Xavier haven't won a flag in 14 years and have beaten SKC once in 7 years. Let's not even talk about the VCE results of the last decade......

Brian. I wrote that for one reason. So that you would bring up school VCE results. A mutual friend has just handed me $50. He is in shock that I could read you so well. I told him to give me an hour. Thank you for being so punctual. Next couple of free beers are going to be ohhh so delicious.

Seeing that the VAFA has now lost its way in regards to State football after so long beating its chest saying they were the no.1 football competition outside the AFL and VFL, instead of playing these representative games every year, what about having them instead every 2 years?

2017 should be the last year the VAFA plays rep football annually . From 2017 onwards representative games will be played on a 2 year basis:

For example:
2017: Club/Representative football
2018: Club football exclusively
2019: Club/Representative football

Jase, chest beating or not we are an incredible comp and we don't care what others think. Rep footy is pretty gay. Losing the odd game doesn't lessen what we are. We are the best comp outside the big ones by a margin so far that you can't even see where it ends. You could buy a long distance telescope from the planetarium if you wanted to see where it ends..but we don't even care about that.

Remember when I said you were mildly funny, well my friend you have just gone from mildly to actual funny. Kudos!!

You didn't even go to Xavier so give me a spell, you're full of shit :)

Good to see Bernies get a win, it's been a hard year for them, Collegians saluted as I predicted, and Old Trinity, when I said they were gone I didn't think they were one goal in 3 quarters and 29 minutes gone!

Give us a spell Jase, start a VAFA state thread, no one cares.

I was there. Only 'Nick'ed off when I got sick of the misfunctioning scoreboard late in the game when it was all over and Xavs dominance was finally refelcting on that annoying scoreboard. I'm everywhere Brian. Connect the dots.

A really smooth operator named Nick Armistead would have some reason to watch multiple VAFA games of a weekend.

As for Brian's VCE results sledge - it's probably more moronic and embarrassing than The Donald's tweet about Scotland voting to leave the EU (which they didn't actually do).

Your Whitefriars education doesn't even give you the right to buy into the argument. It's quite obvious comprehension isn't a strength of yours.

Schools based in Toorak and Kew are pretty light on for blue collar Catholics.

I thought you would have gone down to Mornington to watch your hero.

Briz, ordinary attempt at a tackle by your player at the 14.50 minute mark of Q3.

You should have come and said hello!!! Panthers missing Rimmington
(gone for the year), Jones (C), Murphy and ruckman Coulli, also a couple of the young guys who have been performing pretty well yesterday and lost 2 players by quarter time so very good effort for 3 quarters but ran out of steam in the last.
Lose a couple more to the travel bug from next week. The Club has 27 injuries at the moment and probably 10 of those are season ending but that's footy.
Some years are better than others.
If that was Blues best side they are beatable by anyone in the Comp. De La the best we have played so far IMO. Was not a big fan of Trinity in Round 1 their form seems to have dropped right off.
Many twists and turns to happen yet, l reckon a team could slip into 4th late in the season and still win the flag.
