Great pick-up for the Snowdogs. Bit of a come-down for Riley to now find himself in VAFA ranks though.

been in the AFL system for 20+ years which can take its toll you would imagine.
Supposedly he had the year out of footy last year and he really missed being involved in a club environment, so having good relationship with Bentick from his Carlton days would of helped the cause enormously one would think as well as the strong culture down at the pit obviously looked appealing.
Obviously great for the league to have a coach who is held in such regard

Absolute plum job. Best list in the VAFA by some margin. Good president, strong committee and a large (if on occasions a somewhat obnoxious) supporter base. And if reports are correct they are not shy in paying top dollar to the right bloke either.
Dip my led to the St Bernie’s and St Kevs. Have been able to attract top line talent from outside the school/old boys network and reaped the rewards this year. Something I know my own club needs to do better.

Whilst the standard of footy is regarded highly, the crowd numbers and crowd atmosphere in general would have to be the worst in the metro area and maybe even across the whole state! You know it, I know it, everyone knows it
thats where the infamous 'supporters on the hill' down at the pit come in!

Disagree entirely Brissel.
St Bernards have done a hell of a lot to get their act together on and off the field however the behaviour of some of your supporters still detracts from the clubs reputation. I also know that this has been a focus of your president and the committee.
Informed, passionate and loyal supporters add to the atmosphere and experience. Abusive, cowardly and ignorant supporters who swear incessantly and make physical threats to opposition players and supporters do not.
In my experience there are plenty of other ground with a far superior atmosphere than the pit.

Its the most dreaded road trip in Ammo footy. Its not the winning / losing scenario, its their appalling supporter
base and their behavoir.....

Seeing the AFL releases the 2016 season fixture tomorrow, when does the VAFA announce the 2016 draw? Wish to take a stab at who will play in Round 1 next year?

It wont belong before VAFA Coaches, particularly A Grade will be full time positions. The demands on Caoaches is getting to the stage where full time emplyment will be the only way they can do their job correctly. The pressure is ever growing............

Not my opinion...... A comment made by one of the A grades best coaches. Been in the system for a numbe of years with success to his name. I thought his opinion might carry some weight. Obviously your good self and AM know better
A couple of ex under 19s and they were dealt with, but no loutish behaviour, just caught with drinks.
Kew managed to have no loutish behaviour and not have any drinks.
Reads well. One with a lot of experience as an opposition analyst over 10 years at afl. One to bring the next wave through with him from unders success.
Riley is a great get for Snowdogs.
yeh sorry maybe a bit forefront there…
But we would have to seriously re-evaluate where local footy is at if coaches are needed to go full time..
