AFL Old Xaverians Kelly, Jordan Pending 2016-02-04

Think he is playing VFL at Collingwood. Surprised he would go to Xavs as he is from down Frankston way I believe. Don’t think he cracked it for a senior AFL game in 4 seasons. Dale Tapping’s influence perhaps.

Definatley not in any order, don't have info on the others and not putting Carey in the top 4 by any stretch at this stage.
Reid coaching 2's whilst he recovers from ACL. No point coming back for 3-4 games, will give himself maximum time to recover and be 100% in 2017

If it means the difference between finishing 9th or above, you'd reckon he wouldn't rule himself out of the last month of 2016 though.....

One season in the VAFA, one Premier team relegated.

Hope he turns his luck around!

So does he get maximum points because he was AFL in the last three years PLUS an additional point for changing between teams within the same league?

Yep. A 7 pointer. If true this says a bit about both parties I reckon.

THe only point i'm not sure on with the extra point is that it does say changing teams within the same league AND playing against your previous team. I just wonder if it applies if the team has been relegated and he's no longer playing against them.

6. Additional player point allocations:
6.1. If a player transfers to a Community Club and will be competing in the same Competition and against their former Community Club, (except Category 2 - Development Community Players) an additional one point penalty will apply.

You are probably correct. I forgot the Cards got relegated.

How could you forget. It was so glorious! I am still basking in it.

Despite what others may think I always found the Cards to be a decent bunch. Admittedly I don’t have the APS rivalry thing burnt into me but always enjoyed playing them and in recent times looked forward to watching games at Camberwell. Despite a lack of silverware to survive so long in ‘A’ grade deserves some recognition.

Can only call it as you see it but from my experience far worse clubs in the comp than Scotch. As such would hope that Strauss would do the honorable thing and stick with them as they try and get back in the top grade. Having played AFL its not as if he is motivated to play in a higher grade.

Scotch had him a job...SKOB's got a far better one...

Too true Rooster so here goes. Canada, didn't mean to attack..... just defending my team...
SKOBs look to have the goods on paper but l think most contributors (including me) this time last year were predicting Blues to have both hands on the cup and they did finish 3rd but at the half way mark were 4-5.
Xavs are simply to big to fail and won't miss finals 2 years in a row.
Blues have the talent and will be a force if they can all stay on the park.

Panthers have certainly lost some talent but not all that most are saying. There are several "ins" too but not big names like SKOB's but l am sure they will be by mid season. If youth, numbers and enthusiasm counts for anything the Panthers will be ok. May have finished 7th but were in the four from rounds 5-16, understand it's where you finish that counts. Player losses due to travel/work/injury in the last 5 rounds prevented them from playing in their first A finals series.

Don't have much to go on with the others. Anything can happen in this grade but you don't call in the engraver until the Grand Final is over.

Questions.
1/ When does points system come in if at all?
2/ Is the Grand Final at Carlton again?
3/ If so will they open more than one gate?
You forgot question 4: will they use the main scoreboard?

What exactly does it say about both parties Rooster? Can't blame the kid from wanting out of the cards!
Didn't give them much anyway from what I saw. Particularly early on.

The air must be particularly invigorating around Glen Iris these days. Seems the place to be.;)

Looks like SKOBs have a lot of money to burn to get to the top. Hope they make the granny and lose to a home grown club like Xavs

Gotta love the trolls!!! But seriously could anyone add much on how good he was at ammo level last year? Fit enough to play on ball?

From what I saw he started the season very slowly but was a useful contributor in the back half of the year.

In the games I saw he was mainly used as a winger/mid going forward on occasions. He reads the game well and is clean by hand and foot but doesn't get a lot of depth in his kicking. He's not quick - even suggest one paced. He broke a leg quite badly a little while back which may have something to do with that.

For mine he's better suited to the back half than as a mid or forward.

Worthwhile pick-up mio. What was it that attracted him to King. Finds the colours flattering?:)

Thanks AM. If true looks like he would add silk. Unfortunately he is not a 200 cm ruck-man!!!

His body has made a miraculous recovery from the pounding it took in his farewell appearance. We hope he can make a similar impact to when he first burst on the scene. He has a dozen former team mates who have performed at the highest level who are a chance as well.
