Love the banter. Strong supporter of the VAFA and the OM's with no inside knowledge. Do know that the OM's have built a very strong core after last short stay in A. The 19 =23 group are now 23-27 with lots of games. B grade is certainly not the standard of Premier but there are some very good players and games are tough. Do know that there are some very strong ins . Did watch the grand final and was close game and would imagine OM ins better than StK ins. Matt Thomas would be close to best credentialed player to join the competition. Will combine with Tom Paule and very strong when the VFL players are available. Looking forward to the season

Smoking what are your thoughts on the KPPs down at OMs. They looked a little on the small side last year...having said that its very very hard to judge when you only see them a couple of times.

If OM's perform like they did against SKOB in the granny every week then they are with a chance of being top 4.

Problem is that they'll need to bring the same grand final intensity every week which isn't sustainable and simply won't happen.

I'd expect OM's to get plenty of lashings during the season but will win a few games here and there and may even upset the SKOBs/OXs/UBlues on their day.

End of the day, I'd say they will be one of the teams fighting relegation rather than fighting for top 4.

They were like that last year Chazz.

Saw them absolutely taken to the cleaners by SKOB at King during the year. They may have had a few out but it was just their lack of intensity and any semblance of system that made me believe they wouldn't make the finals let alone perform the way they did. Still can't believe the turnaround.

No doubting St Kevins smashed OMs during the year but come Grand Final day OMs were the better team i believe. Even when you had gilham and 5 others who obviously made your side worse come the granny if you want to base it on scores and what not which you are

Yes St Kevins played poorly but due to OMs immense pressure.

Obviously St Kevins a better side but OMs built incredibly well through out the year and peaked on Grand Final day.

OMs will be competitive dont worry about that

I read this page alot however don't post regularly enough and jeez the dribble that comes out of Brianspeakings mouth is genuine crap. just thought i'd let you know
Yeah right, dribble. You just said OM's were the better team on the day in the GF!!!!! LOL.
How's my mate Tom Paule going?

There wasn't much competition last year though besides SKOBs dominance, STB's were quite young, OB lost plenty through injury and Ajax were... well Ajax.. so it wasn't going to be hard to make it into the finals as long as you beat the bottom teams.

It was a good performance by OM's in the granny but they were lucky to be playing at TBO where it was going to suit them. They would have been torn apart had it been at EP. I also believe the gorilla on SKOB's back played a part in their performance but at the end of the day the cream rose to the top.

I thought STb's performance in the semi was more impressive. Not sure what happened to them in the prelim? Thought they were clearly the 2nd best team for the year.

Anyway, OM's had 12 wins and 6 losses and a % of 116. They couldn't kick scores. I think that'll be a big issue for them this year.

Heard Milne on SEN 1116 spruiking Beauy and inferring he was going to play I believe...didnt get it all. He and Schneider good pickups.
(not srictly Premier news).

Agree with Briza here. The better team on the day won. Despite playing a shocker for them.
Comparing these two teams in 2016 will be like comparing Hawthorn and Carlton.
Re Paule...GUN. Big V VAFA modern day great. And a ripping bloke.

Sportsbet odds for VAFA premier division:
OX $3.50
OT $3.80
Uni Blues $4.50
Snowdogs $5.50
SKOB $6
Dela $7.50
Collegians $10
Uni Blacks $26
OC $101
OM's $201

Would suggest the Snowdog Lads may be having a bit of a flutter.
IMO OT, Blacks, Collegians should be lower- OT maybe far lower- some seriously big outs there. Gabe Hamilton jumps to mind.

Speaking to a Hedgeburner at the pub the other day and he tells me that they are flying. Captain Courageous back, Steinhart back, yes they have lost some goodies, but very upbeat.
I don't have them in my 4 as I think they had a great run with injuries. If they had copped what a Xavs or Blues copped all year with injuries, they wouldn't have made finals.
But certainly a little hard to guage them. Mid table for me.

Agree, OT mid ladder. Bottom three Coll 8, OM 9, OC 10.

Iezzi did an ACL mid year? I've heard the opposite, that he was taking the whole year off to fully recover, which would be a very smart move.
