FWIW enter comments regarding OTs can't win it as no depth etc etc

I was there and happy to share my observations. The Ts were most impressive. The teams were pretty even but Trinity ball use was far more effficient. Final margin probably not a true reflection but IMO with Xavs they are the team to beat.

I note from the team lists that both sides seemed to be missing a heap of their very best players. Trinity absences included Nicolosi, Tinney, Hamilton and Steinhart and for De La Fieldsend, Forato, Moore, Xavier Murphy and Indovino. Evened up on the day but it might suggest that should they meet later in the year the line-ups could be substantially different.

Depth? Well they certainly covered their absences better than De La on Saturday but their 2s got belted by club similarity impacted by player absences. Clubs depth really not tested until June/July so maybe still a question but only if they get decimated. Have used 26 players so far this year, which is still pretty comfortable.

Maplebet is warming to the T's.
In to a firming second favourite. Scribe has been right all along.
Despite Carltons protests, Maplebet have wound in the Panthers to $1.01 to be in B grade next year.
We took a bet of $10,000.00 to win $100.00 and have just closed the books on them.

What odds on the reigning premiers missing the four?

The biggest surprises for me so far this season are both SKOB's and Bernies performances nearly a quarter of the way through the season. Scarier for Bernies is that there 2's haven't saluted yet this season either. As Rooster mentions above, mid winter is where the depth truly gets tested, and St Bernards are already well and truly on the back foot.

I was at the Lions/Blues game on the weekend. The wind turned it into an ordinary spectacle, but some big Outs from the Blues at selection had them not looking very competitive for most of the game. Blues sides are traditionally pretty consistent across all positions in terms of talent, but maybe they have a reliance on too few that could also test them when the playing stocks thin a little when injury hits. I'm not as high on the Blues as I was before the season started.

Penski, your to kind to Blues. You were there, they should have been beaten by 10 or more goals in the end..Colls bad kicking saved them.
Everyone has players out..no need to go there. Its a team sport.

Do you think Trinity could find a spot for Iezzi Rooster 24? :)

Of course. I only named players missing who have participated so far in 2016. I suggest there would be a few clubs still waiting on long termers coming back, although few would be of his quality. He is fine player but coming back from a reco might take some time.

Ts should be favourites. The internal desire to avenge last years' GF loss is immense.

End of opinion. :thumbsu::footy:

Unfortunately desire will not always get you across the line. I heard that Grant Hacketts desire to make the Olympic team was so big that he was doing 12 sessions a week for 6 months. He was desperate to atone for the bad press of recent times.
But in the end all he could manage was a nipple squeeze.

Watched blacks and SKOB on Saturday. A few rumour scan be put to bed with Gilham, Bail, Strauss and Gysberts all playing. Would have been hoping for a bigger win with that sort of team in.

SKOB will eventually click IMO.
They would be a very dangerous team if the snuck into 4th. Need to win there next two. To get things moving. I think they can.

Fortunately the average age of a Trinity senior player is 23, not 35. Also helps that they happened to go within a nipple squeeze of winning the flag as recently as last year! :drunk:

So because i have way to much work on and no spare time on my hands, i decided to pick back through the thread and try and see where everyone is at on their tipping form. Apart from round 1 there have only been a handful tipping each round, anyone who didn't put their tips in for a round gets the lowest actual tips for that round.

Subject to them not being unduly adversely affected by injury and they can keep Forato doing his thing the Bellers are capable of causing quite some damage at the pointy end in my view.

Bail didn't play and it's currently a completely different side from last year.

Dont "bet your house" on Bail seeing the season out. Strauss hardly set the world on fire at OS. nothing to show so far that he will at Skobs either.
Bernies need to start winning soon. Coll may not win next sat(Skobs) but are improving and OMs holding firm could realy see them staying around the bottom OC.

Long way to go I know, but signs arent great...

Only 6 different names from last years GF as far as I could tell.

That'd make it ~70% the same side.

I must say I did think the side looked reasonably similar. Really thought it was a great result from SKOB. I dont know the side terrible well it must be said... the masters side on the other hand. Seems to me that SKOB could have lost to or won all its games so far (I know there have been some big margins but based on the game play viewed from the VAFA TV reckon they are not too far away). Seems like anyone can beat anyone this year.... which I guess is the beauty of the ammos.

Dude, the post started about OT's.
So you aren't correct.
I was just trying to 'wake you' for a comment. Don't mind the Panthers.
Just think you need to acknowledge that with a ressies 0-4 and 0-22 including last year, and a seniors struggling...they may just be in line for relegation. Doesn't mean they are falling apart. I'm just saying on field. I'm suprised this shocks you.
