St Bernards % a fair way behind the other eight. 87 v a range from 103 to 129. 4 to 7 goals. Gone.

Agree. As stated above they need at least 5 and probably 6 wins from 9 games with only 4 left at home. And unlike other seasons there is no other team looking particularly vulnerable.

Massive week in Premier Division! Trinity winless in their last 3.. cant wait for the 2nd half of the year.. interestingly on the site in the Ladder section there's a 'Predict' Option, would love to see BigFootys finest put up their ladders and see who's closest at seasons end.

In other news anyone making plans to go to the State Game next Satday?

Congrats to Tinney for his selection as Big V captain. Wonder if he gets tackled heavily in the state game will he dob in the SA player to the tribunal?

Could the Lions and Xavs also challenge for the fourth spot?

Xavs must be rattled....Very unlike them last sat. They got out muscled around the ball by younger smaller players. Having said that,it would be a very, very, brave person to think Colls could make it. Lets just say Xavs had a bad day....leave it at that.

Xavs, just a shade of their former self. No longer put the fear of God into their opponents. Everyone gives themselves a chance against them.
It started midway through 2015...and continuing through 2016...

By comparison to other teams they have an extraordinarily old list. Despite years of strong unders they stubbornly refuse to blood youngsters and this theme continues. When you already have plenty of wise old heads in your side why promote Serafini, Agius, Allen and other veterans when your Prem 19s sit undefeated on top after winning the flag last year.

Some of these blokes have been out an out champs in their day but you need a balance of young and old and at the moment they have the balance all wrong. This will be the 3rd year in a row they will miss finals - the aura is gone.

If so - so is the coach.

Which one??

With all the so called out and out champions who have come into A grade this year either via B Grade or externally, there seems to be a distinct lack of their names in the big V squad this weekend.

The out and out champions are in A grade, don't be fooled by them not being in the state team, most that I know are either unavailable or simply declined.

It always amazes me just how good a side we can put out every year considering the amount of available talent that declines to play or is unavailable.

The interesting thing is that the SA Amateurs hasn't played a state game against the VAFA at Senior level (not counting the Under 23 games) since 2004.

don't worry,Jas-SA amateurs haven't been able to beat SA Country the last few years!I intend to watch the first half and then dash for the exit!Hopefully it won't be too one sided.Back in the day SA used to be really strong and had some real star players!

Quarter time at Sandringham: SA 3.2 (20) VAFA 0.1 (1)

3/4 time at Sandringham: VAFA 3.7 (25) S.A. 9.9 (63) S.A. 30 minutes away from a major upset.
Like I said,Jas-i headed for the exit at 1/2 time.Good result I reckon as it will be a rude wake up call for the VAFA and SA will be encouraged.Crowd numbers very disappointing though.
