They might be a bit more motivated now or a week from now. Bernards v Blacks is a massive game for both ends of the ladder. If Bernards win (which I reckon they just might in the time-honoured tradition of desperate sides doing desperate things), suddenly De La looks the goods for finals and it might just be a relegation battle in round 18. Around an 89 point differential between Skobs and Bernards right now, but that could turn. Bernards did themselves no favors with Saturday's scoreline. Huge games for OX from now on. Thankfully the boring rounds are over.

Fair enough. Although my point was that De La were/still are a chance for finals and had more to play for. While a Bernies win this week will make for a very interesting round 18 clash, I just can’t see SKOBs getting relegated.

Extraordinary that two teams with so much talent but be playing off to decide who goes to B grade.

Found myself out bulleen way on the weekend for kids sport. Popped in to watch the Carey game. They were holding Xavs at quarter time. Gates opened up after that.

I'm not sure who he is but he is certainly not a footballer, but who ever directed 16 to carry on like he did should have a look at themselves. If it was the coaches directive then it is a disgrace, if he took it upon himself then playing reserves football in B Grade is probably about where he belongs.

The guy on Gossy. I thought it was funny. Gossy gave as good as he got. In fact a few times Goss had hold of the Carey guys jumper and the Carey guy couldn't break free.
Both landed about 100 chest whacks and bumps on each other during the day. The Carey guy then went too far and got reported. Can reliably report that Goss wasn't in the slightest intimidated or concerned. The guy was obviously given a job to do and it reflects on Goss's star power more than anything else.
The umpy should have paid free kicks early on when one or the other were forcefully pushing and shoving.

There you are once again at a Xavs game Canada. You really must have a warm place in your heart for 'em.;)

Been moved to Royal Park, so someone agreed with them. "Claret & Stout" - such a sh-t nickname.

Unbelievable. So the protests of the clubs that had to slog it out in ankle deep mud on that grassless $h!t hole during June and July get ignored but Xavs snap their fingers and the game gets moved. FFS.

They sure do have friends in high places.

Had to do more than snap fingers. I heard they had to send at least two emails.

Good result despite anti X.
Panthers will be weakened next year in B due to Uni Oval.
Good that neither Xavs or Blues will enter finals down men.

Toorak Park might need to move to drop in pitches as there is no way the Blues will play on that mud patch without a fight next year.

Visitors rooms might also need a touch up.

VAFA have shown a complete lack of consistency with this decision.

Collegians
Trinity
Xavs
DLS
Bernies.

A fascinating final two rounds. DLS to sneak into 4th and will give a real scare to whoever finishes 3rd.

Xavs still my pick, especially when they get to pick where they play.

This was Uni Oval a month ago. It was even worse a fortnight earlier when De La played Blacks. Not a murmur about inspections, safety of players or moving the game. I suspect the ground is in far better nick now then what is was then. One rule for some and a different rules for others. once again a complete lack of consistency from HQ.
