Hoskin
Johnson - ex VFL
Papadopoulos
Sholakis

O’Brien - ex AFL
Wenn - ex VFL

You couldn’t finish 8th with this squad if you tried. They’ve done it two years in a row.
Fairly sure both delucas played afl - one at freo one at Carlton or maybe there was one who played at both?

Josh Deluca played AFL at Blues n Freo. Dont forget Tom Bell aswell.
They just signed Kai Owens from Mornington. Ex VFL and was a runner up in Frankstons bnf

Just shows just because you are in premier does not mean you are a well ran club you think?

I have very little doubt they are the highest spenders in the division and they have finished 8th two years running.

In terms of return, I’m not sure there’d be a worse run club in local footy history.

Mich Owen’s’ brother. Apparently a gun. We (Blackburn) gave belly the 6 cans as DE best against us he is still more than handy. Imagine they will see less of Quaynor Jr as pies academy has him. He was brilliant against us

eynaud from nsw
nockles from edfl
kennedy from Frankston vfl

one more vfl bloke on the way i heard today to

Kennedy only played a handful of VFL games in 2024. None this year. He had a pretty average season at Seaford though the club is a mess. Only played about ten games. He’s got good upside and is tall (would push 200cm) but really needs to be more physical. Big step up in grade to EFNL Premier.

Nockles is a fringe reserves / senior player at Doutta

Eynaud I don’t know anything about but looks to be a star in the Sydney comp. Not sure how that lines up. Could be a really good pickup. But Nockles came out of the same comp 12 months earlier and was only a fringe player at Doutta.

Nelson brothers are a loss.

I think they’ve still got some building to do and it doesn’t look like there’s a heap coming thru their reserves or U19s.

I know they had a big crack at a few lower division stars and came up empty. Without the big money to spend of previous years / decades they’re finding it a lot harder. Like Vermont they used to be able to cherry pick gun players from lower divisions and the SFNL and bring them in each year. Feels a bit like the gap has closed and they’re not spending what they used to.

On the flipside they’re extremely well coached and should get the most out of what they have.

They missed out on a couple key recruits they were banking on.

Balwyn must be well and truly in Blackburn’s head now. Bad loss that.

The cheats from up the hills start with a loss. What a shame. Here’s hoping for relegation.
Credit to balwyn but once again a questionable decision impacted the result - Blackburn 2 goals up in last and won a free at half forward for holding the pill. Ump from back play came up and reversed decision unsure why. Balwyn attack and ball bounced their way in an open square. Potentially 12 point play. Sure that back field ump got his allbanx envelope of greenies and pineapples after the game.

Again Blackburn 3/4s of the crowd. Balwyn no support no soul not a proper club full of mercs. That said, miller will be useful for them as will Boyd in the ruck 💰 💵 💷

Yes and no. Rowvilles short and sharp game style didn't play into the conditions. Sths long bombing forward worked for a while until Rowville dropped a player or two back. South should have had a much bigger lead at quater time but after that rowville was the far better team. Too much run and too slick. Taylor garnor did a hammy that will hurt.

It was the right call from the camera - he got taken high in the tackle and the controlling ump was blindsided.

Balwyn got over the line with a couple of very special efforts to kick goals late.

Seesawing game. 23.8 kicked at one end to 2.8 at the other. Windy I assume?

A bit of wind - Whitehorse rd end the scoring end as it always is and has been there

I’ll agree with you about the crowd Balwyn no support , there was hardly a breeze to the Whitehorse rd end 4 goals to none in the last QTR wasn’t about umpiring …..as was the case in the GF Blackburn’s leaders went to water.
I reckon you should worry about your high prized recruits when the pressure is on rather than the umpires
