Premier A - 2013

I don't think any team sitting third at this stage of the year thinks they are "no chance". If that was the case then the would be no need for a finals series.

I think most people at Melbourne University like have the blues and blacks in the same league. There is a huge rivalry and every player would love the opportunity to play against their biggest rivals.

This could not be further from the truth, both clubs HATE each other. Blacks would love nothing more than seeing Blues relegated, it goes back to the days when Kanis would allegedly ring opposition clubs and tell them what the Blacks line up was for the week after he read it posted on the board.

In preparation for what could be the relegation match on Saturday against St.Bede's, Uni Blues trained on half of the Uni hockey pitch last night as the Uni Oval was closed and the girls touch rugby team was training on the other half of the hockey pitch. So much for Premier A grade facilities.

Yes, I too saw this. I believe the oval is closed until match day only.

Pretty poor from the world's 54th best university and Australia's number one.

Step in VAFA, turn the heat up on the university (not its clubs).

Huge weekend of action. De La need to win to keep their season alive or the top 4 (in no order) is set. Scotch could lock them out by beating Collegians. Beauy could almost ice the blues with a win and Xavier could put some hurt on a blacks team who seem to have lost their way!

Happy days down by the bay as the Sharks ensure they are up in the top grade for 2014. Despite the dire predictions & negative press from intellectual minnows such as Max, the Sharks have dug deep and 7.5 wins and a % in the 90s is a great return. Looking forward to the local derby next week - if only it were played at a venue deserving of A grade status!

Typical knob head, 4 posts, and he thinks he can throw king hits, oh no that's left to mister petering.

Haha Max, please still clinging to things that can make you remember when OI where in A grade... Oops sorry that was in B grade wasn't it? From where your club got relegated to C grade (it's a credit to IO the way it turned around, last year you would have been beaten by D3 clubs! it was Embarrassing) Beauy went up to A (where they stay). It amazes me that you have managed to hold onto this issue given the clear set-up job that it was! If you and your club had any backbone they would just own up to it? (He played the following week, broken jaw my ass) It's time you moved on! And just got to enjoying being a mid range C grade side!! (Stick to the forum where you play)

Winners are grinners. You survived in A Grade. Talk to me when you have played A Grade Finals.

Regardless of the injury, a king hit is a king hit. He has been reported several times since.

Ps. Wasn't a broken jaw.

Pss. I saw it. Got his just desserts.

Psss. A testament to a good club is how the behave during a poor year. OI had a record year off field. There was no bitching no infighting, just made the club more determined.

Pssss. The club is well and truly over it. I just want to get rid of thugs from the game, regardless of what grade they play in. A leopard doesn't change his spots.

Yep you really seem over it, bringing it up for no reason???

I've already said well done to your boys we alway enjoyed the hospitality and you alway stick around for a beer at Beauy.

Come and talk to me when you make it back into A grade, more chance of playing A grade finals from inside A grade than from C.

Petering is not a thug and would be welcomed into any club as you well know! Disappointing you can't post with the same class you state your club acts with!

Great result for the Sharks - with limited recruiting.
Were helped by an injury-free year pretty much.
With the exception of Callan Buckley, most key players made it for all games (or thereabout).
Petering not a thug. Just lost it that day. Hasn't been rubbed out since, I believe.
Move on.

Never bagged the club. Maybe a few digs at some early year posts. Also had a go at St.bedes for the same early crowing years ago. Look at them now.

This is supposed to be some fun.

Your post was the 1st real acknowledgement that the incident occurred, without some bs about conspiracy theories.

See you in two years. (hopefully in A Grade)

Isn't it funny how we have not heard from 1 Sharks supporter for 5 weeks now all of a sudden they are back hahaha what a bunch of pricks

Youlike, I have consistently posted throughout the year so don't tar us all with the same brush! Agree re some of the rubbish Beauy posts earlier in the year, it's been a very long year and we have learnt plenty, looking forward to testing ourselves against a very good side this weekend!

As for being pricks we are more than happy with you and your polesmoking mate Max thinking that! It must be hard now you old school boys don't have A grade all to yourselves.

haha you lads @ Chelsworth Park have big shoulders!!!

Any chance to jump back into B Max?

Quitely confident, but its a very even race for all participants. Mazenod are favourite to go up, but Heath Black maybe the key. Moansh have been amazing considering they were to be relegated to D Grade in 2013. Marcellin, on their day will run all team ragged.

3 of the 4 finalists have their reserves palying finals. A little bit of depth helps.

I'm back to C Grade. Hope to see ya soon

It's not just me and me boyfriend Max it's the whole comp!!

I have seen them play twice this year and not only do the players serve up cheap shots behind play but your supporters are foul mouthed bogans, I have never in my life heard an umpire get abused as much as in one game, it was horrible to listen too.

You are 100% correct, I'm a private school boy and I don't want you in A Grade! I think you belong in the SFL sucking back cans and acting feral (which is natural) but that doesn't matter does it? you are here now so i'll suck it up and hope you get sent back to B section next year!

Interesting to note a few predictions halfway thru the year....

Anyone want to revisit their predictions?

Quite amazing to see Uni Blues go down who have been in 'A' for a long long time. Surely Summers and Young won't want to play B Grade next year? Another A Grade club or elsewhere?

Can I please have another crack!!

Xavs are the ones to beat. Young to win the Woodrow.

I think they will both stay at the Blues. They will be back in Prem A by 2015.

I never knew that much about the Blacks as they were in the lower grades when I was involved, been good to read their website and learn a bit more although they do need to update their website or someone needs to inform them of this little club that wears purple and gold "The Blacks have won more A Grade flags than any other team"

Sad day for VAFA regarding its classification as just another metropolitan league by way of its involvement in the 2014 Metro Championships! If you lay down with dogs you will only catch fleas, fellas! To think that once upon a time this great competition offered players the chance of real All Australian selection playing against the best from NSW,ACT,QLD and VFA.These days they will have to content themselves by bullying suburban easybeats!(and grossly overpaid ones at that)
