They won 6 out of 18, don’t get too excited.
I'm hardly excited. I'm actually far more excited that we don't have to go to the Snakepit next year. Have seen a bit of B grade in recent years and the gap between A and B is enormous. It's just my view but 6 1/2 wins, 5 losses by a kick and % of 95 in A grade suggests you might fare ok in B grade if you retain most of the playing stocks. As you stated perhaps they will fall off a cliff but I reckon they bounce straight back up.

We have a few Collegians posters among us. Would be interested in their thoughts.

Hats off to Snowdogs. I didn’t see that coming.
Wesley must be the best side I can remember to be relegated for a while.
Purple rain ☔
Welcome back, Canada. A bit like old home week hereabouts with Brian Speaking, peeping in too. I’m wondering whether some of your other admirers like Hair Hat, Doug Hogan 23, Sausage Roll, Mr Gold, Glorious One, Cardio Carl ……. might pop by too.

Apropos of the outstanding “Maplebet” funds. I can’t speak for the other creditors, but I’m prepared to accept 50c in the dollar.:thumbsupv1:

Agree. Collegians will absolutely take the P155 in B grade next year. 6 ½ wins, lost 5 games by a kick and finish with a % north of 95. They could start their season in June and still win it. Surely the best side ever to get relegated.
No depth, they will fall apart IMO. All of their better players are north of 30.

Even funnier was it looked like the SKOB ressies were going to beat St Bernard’s at half time. St B have a lot of work to do or they will be in B in 2027.

OH took the gas but a good first season back for them, another club with zero depth.
SKOBAFL reserves won their fixture

Wesley go Under the bus.

Let’s hope Mr P Lynch hasn’t flirted with form. We will know in a fortnight against rejuvenated ScotchiesVFL.

Practice match next weekend anyone?

Harry Hill had the week off, no different with SKOB x 13?

FWIW had won 2 games at the half way mark. Including a loss to StBernards at HT. What are we debating here?
Don’t necessarily think there is any debate. 9 & 10 go down - end of story. Conversation started more as an opinion that based on the comparative strength of B grade, the seasons results in their entirety (6 1/2 wins, 5 losses by a kick and % of 95), and on the assumption they retain the majority of their list that they would dominate B grade next year. It was not meant to infer they didn’t deserve to go down. Notwithstanding DLS was an easy kill for everyone, I can’t recall a team ever getting relegated from A grade with a % in the mid 90s. Mr Speaking may well be correct. Perhaps they will fall apart. Personally I think they bounce straight back up but it is of course dependent on retaining their playing stocks. I guess time will tell.

3 things can be true at once.
Collegians are the architects of their own demise by not winning the close games.
SKOB threw Collegians under the bus with their round 18 selection. Their normal team wins that game by 6 goals
or more.
It was SKOBs right as a matter of self interest to make that selection call

Which made it all the stranger that the 13 SKOB rested players have 3 weeks between games.
Rolled over on the momentum of a 7 game winning streak as well. Time will tell
Who knows, but as I said above, how is it any different to Harry Hill and co having last Saturday off as well? I note a key OX player suffered a concussion on the weekend, so he’s out unless they make the GF.

Harry Hill went off with a calf during the 3rd quarter the week before. Genuine injury concern.
Otherwise Brighton seemed to play pretty much a full strength team

Never thought the day would come that I will be supporting OS in a Finals game. Clearly Skobs are still smarting from the humiliation they suffered when they played Colls in their last a GF meeting.

This is a great post, it’s SKOB’s fault Collegians were relegated? Why not OB for not letting the Lions win in round 17?

I would probably blame the umpire for the no call round 16 in the last second if I were looking for blame, but that’s footy, someone has to go down.

Put it into perspective, it’s local footy.
