A Section Premier A 2025

I’m not reviving home and away season 2025 as that is done and dusted.
My point is that there is no shame in losing to XAV reserves as they will win their 9/10 premiership
Brahton one pointers will win their first Premier Premiership
But a team with a percentage over 95 in A grade wouldn’t lose to Xav ressies so it’s a moot point.

Agree OB will win their first flag.
Best overall team I saw this season over the 2 legs (best team performance was Xavs the first time around against Collegians)

Aah so no mention/excuses of the Collegians injury crisis by their coach or players all season - the first time they played Xavs they had 9 or 10 out and no midfield - but now the narrative of they were lucky that other teams were rolling out their “reserves” against them.
Lions debuted 3 as late as round 17 and still got within a goal of Briza’s mob.

All teams have injuries during the season. Let’s not start the revisionist history
Everyone can play the injury game, SKOB played 61 players in the seniors this year and didn’t have Coates until round 7, Jok was injured blah blah blah.

OX didn’t have Fisher and Stavrou blah blah blah. OS had half their team go to the VFL this year, blah blah blah.

The bottom line is two teams get demoted, and two went down.

More importantly is this weekends game, I favour OX because they were easily the second best team this year.

Should be a great game.

I read the original post from XAFL as inferring that Xavs had basically played their ressies when the 2 teams met -given Fisher and Stavrou were out - but yes all teams are injury affected on any given day and no excuses should be used to that effect

Some just have more than others

I actually agree with Mr Platinum on this, we can all play the blame game.

As I stated in my lengthier piece, Collegians were in more than enough games to stay up, but we didn't. That's the reality and I like dealing in facts rather than ifs / buts / maybes / should've / could've.

Onto the weekend's game, OS I think will run over OX.

Maybe Xavs should have played their reserves team….i heard they’re really good.
FWIW Collegians beat Scotch twice this season but who’s counting.

G.Natt becoming a master coach.
3 rounds to go and sat 3 games and percentage outside finals. No Valentine or Sellars up front.
Nothing to lose next week. Brighton with the frontrunners pressure and maybe a couple of mental demons from last years GF against the same oppo

About to win their 10th Reserves Premiership in that period
Maybe, maybe not. Interesting little tidbit about Old Brighton’s reserves. A little birdie told me that they didn’t have numbers to fill their team Thursday night, so they had to call on some thirds players late Friday night.

Josh Kennedy back for OX this weekend is the word.
Unfortunately this was a ruse from my OX friends, not sure the point of it but so be it.

In other ‘watch stories’, can Will Lewis do the double this week? The Footscray VFL flag(led by Collegians gun Dan Orgill) and OB flag on Friday?

Enjoy Grand Final week everyone, it’s the best week of the year!

Friday VAFA Grand Final is ridiculous

Who cares? Lost their last 6 senior finals and haven't won one since 2016...their reserves better win or it's only one flag from 10 teams for the footy factory. Both under 19 teams missed finals and finished low on the ladder.

The GFL are doing the same as well.
It's a great innovation by the ammos and showcases the top 2 teams
I know people that went last year that are not ammo people that want to watch good footy and said they will be back
