Seriously, the Amateurs aren't called the Shamateurs for no reason.

The winner of Prem A is always the team that can bring back the best and most VFL affiliated players for the finals. No different this year with Will Lewis.

And it is no coincidence that Old Bwighton OC have become a better team now that their college affiliate hands out specifically targeted scholarships to players with footy talent that are then obligated to play for the old collegians and infact and given fantastically paid jobs by the sponsors of said club. Half the team have got jobs for the "boys" or internships through affiliates of the Club.

Look at Will Ashcroft. Was living in Brisbane during covid and then mysteriously arrives at Brighton Grammar to do year 11 and year 12.

The whole system needs to be looked at because it is totally corrupt.

It just shows how incompetent they are that after all the advantages they have and all the work behind the scenes to get their football scholarships in order, it still took old Bwighton forever to win a flag and that was more because the other teams in Prem A had slacked off in standard.

This was not a vintage year for Ammos footy. The current standard of Ammos footy isn't that high compared to past years and also shown by the interstate game result the last two years.

And Old Bwighton still needed Will Lewis to come back from the VFL and win the Jock Nelson Medallist and win the game for them. There was Will Lewis and then there was daylight as far as the standard of play on the day.

Well done to the two big winners of 2025.
Brighton great win.
And the Claret and Stout doing it yet again in the big Ressies GF over SKOB. Dominating the game from first whistle to last. Great depth down there at Xavland. Prelim in one match, GF winners in the other big one.
Well done to both Xavs and Brighton.

Who do you follow??

Who do you follow??
He doesn’t follow anyone and has absolutely zero knowledge of the VAFA, SFL and other local competitons he comments on. He just trolls all the BF boards and posts bull tish in a desperate attempt to convince other BF users that he knows what he is talking about. His posts are either completely made up or a direct ‘cut and paste’ from club and competition websites or media articles. Engage at your peril. He is a 🤡.

It's not Bull Tish to tell the truth I'm afraid. I am a connoisseur of all football. I am a person with deep knowledge and a highly refined taste, qualifying me to be an expert judge. The current Ammos picture is the lowest standard that it has been for a few years. There have been a number of players in a lot of teams that have moved away from the competition or were able to get to Europe (seemed to be a huge outflux this year) and so the standard was only pedestrian. Look all credit to Old Brighton OC and you can only beat who is put out there on the other team but the fact that Will Lewis came back from Footscray and dominated soo dramatically tells you all you need to know. Still there is some fascinating young talent that has hit the seniors in most clubs through the under 19 programs, still the best program in Australia, so the next few years should be brighter for the Ammos in general and let's hope they can at least beat the Perth football League this season. That should be the number one objective.

Nepo relax mate, it's just a bunch of blokes kicking the kangaroo leather around. Who really cares.

The Tonners don't care; they have worked their backsides off to climb this Prem A premiership mountain. They now have a measure of respectability even though they don't have the meteoric history of some of the other clubs. Through their vaunted location in the juicy rich suburbs, including the Sandringham Dragons, they have set up the pathways system, so they are the school of choice for young aspiring junior footballers

As shown by the Ashcroft boys' choices.

Old Bwighton OCs have been trying since 2017 when they won Prem B so that's a long process. Realistically Old Brighton are given a huge advantage because they are the school of choice of the Sandringham Dragons so there is an unofficial rule that kids who go to Old Brighton Grammar get first dibs on the places in Sandringham Dragons.

The Sandringham Dragons have the best recent history in the TAC Cup so you can see how it all lines up for the rise and rise of old Brighton from a lowish Prem B team to the top of Prem A.

And the way the Sandringham Dragons system works, parents will be falling over each other to enrol their kids at Beighton Grammar if they think they have any football ability to all

So, this pathway and the Old Brighton connection to the SDs can only lead to the Old Brighton OC being perennially competitive with likely future success guaranteed.
