For what it's worth I'll put the kiss of death on the following:
Caulfield
OB
Xavs

Good choices.

Please please please please get rid of football from EP.

Ruins finals football every September. Optus oval is vacant.

Need to play at grounds that run East/West.

Caulfield's throat must be well and truly clear by now.

Congratulations to Caulfield, final score Caulfield 17-12-114 St Bernards 12-9-81 after leading by only a point at 3QT.

Congratulations to Caulfield.

Liddell had two good finals but how they didn't award joint BOG Medals today is beyond me - one for him and one for the other guy who double-teamed Merrington. Actually, how Perkins didn't get it is beyond me too - he only had one opponent at a time all day, but looked to beat all comers.

Well done to Old Xavs who absoultely destroyed our Thirds with committed football. The Red & Black know how to step up in the big games.

Also congratulations to OB Reserves who had the perfect season! Although Old Ivanhoe gave them a great contest and ran them to the line, gutsy stuff.

But the efforts of the 22 in Blue & White in the big show was great to watch. There has been a very long list of knockers of Steve L and his charges but yesterday should silence anyone worth listening too. Was the Fossil BOG, questions are always asked and I would agree Tex was oustanding with 5 goals. But Merrington has been a force in the second half of the season and the Fos did a great job in nullifying his influence while also playing a creative role. Merrington's inability to handle this probably flags an opportunity for A Grade defenders next season.

Finally to the all the knockers.........nah you aren't worth it!

Winners are Grinners see you next year in A Grade.

You may have to expand on what "this" was so that others understand.

given that merrington did not have a pre season this yeear he has done more than they could have asked and may have got a bit fatigued in the last few weeks

with a pre season under his belt, will no doubt be a force come next year

Merrington was an incredibly impressive player, no denial of that. Completely agree about him being a force in A Grade. Could see him challenging for the leading goalkicker.

But he didn't handle the close attention he got, and all it was was a hand across the front of the body all day.

Merrington did what he could... O Caulfield cut off efficient supply. Any wombat can spoil a forward when the ball isn't coming down clean.
Credit should go to O C midfield for their pressure up field.

Typical CG pugs coming in to ice the cake after the event.

Choked the last 2 GF's, up by a point 3/4 time and looking for 3rd choke, get up and then start handing out lessons to the opposition club/player as though they are some kind of super club.

Gee I thought Sinclair was well held, didnt kick a goal - his self importance certainly effects him in big games and will struggle in A Grade.

Carboni and Lewis got smashed everytime they went for the ball and seem too slow for A Grade and where was Meredith?? oh but then again who cares, the team won so no one played a bad game.

with that type of poor sportsmanship by CG they leave B grade with a big ego but little else.

Can't wait for StB to play them, should give StB something to motivate them.

Considering how accurate you have been about CGFC so far I fully expect to see your crystal ball success continue!

See you next year in A Grade!

Stick to fishing off the pier!

Yes, Yes, and 3rd will advertise but will retain (hope not though).

I have it from good sources that Oakleigh, Beaumaris & UB will become vacant

Also SKOB have advertised but expect retention

OI are only advertising for some left sided footballers.

Remuneration - negligible.

Benefits - Wearing the lovely Brown and White

Keano have enjoyed your work during the season - concise and to the point. As we look back - Hampton's season was done at the start (no offence there lads they just had lots of players leave through the back door), Marcellin's was dashed in about Round 2 or 3 (v St Kevins) with injuries to key players. Beauy (sorry CC) lost Tom Dean who was a key player, UB couldn't get Foster nor Bolton on the park. Old Ivanhoe never recovered from their exit and unavailability of their onballers. Oakleigh's game fell apart around the UB game and beyond. Old Brighton's hopes diminished with R16 - a few not seen on the park since. SKOB's team has had more changes than any others but they've not let that get in the way. St Bernard's year almost never started and they've now hit full tilt, even qualifying Mitchell Church up as I understand. It's now up to Caulfield to prove the pundits wrong - you've now got injuries (and changes) but its what most teams have been carrying through the year.

St Kevins look well equipped to go up. St Bernards going up would be a worry - a pretty full list all year (minus Jolley / Stapleton) and got to fourth. Old Brighton have too many indians running around and not enough chiefs. And Real Saga, its the September action that counts not early May form which has been Caulfields problem.

You guys are just blowing off steam.

The loss of Byrne was immeasurable (kicking out from points, great outside player, ball carrier, captaincy on the ground, and goal kicker) - lost all three games he didn't play this year - two at the start and one at the finish. I certainly didn't see an Old Carey last Saturday, nor perhaps an Old Haileybury so both clubs have some work to do to consolidate but Caulfield do have the silverware.

CC is just bitter and terrible at eating humble pie.

Byrne is a gun and his loss was a factor in the result. But the loss of Sheetz to Caulfield was also not insignificant.

Caulfield has plenty to do in order to ensure they are competitive in A Grade. I would however say that 5 players for Caulfiled were still Under 19s and I watched St Bernards Unders run around this season and there is plenty of talent there! Both clubs had reserves in the finals, which indicate their depth is allright (OH Reserves have always been weak).

Recruiting for both clubs will have started and heading to A Grade does help.

I would say Trinity & Scotch have just as much to worry about.

Would've thought it was pretty clear. Liddel did a good job on him considering the previous bout he kicked 7-8 goals on him. Not having a dig at the big bloke here, but he carried a lot of weight on his shoulders going in? And as the game wore on and his opportunities slowed, I thought he showed frustrations that 99 percent of people would do in his situation. My lesson learned would be dry up his opportunities and stick at the task and he won't single handed tear you a new one.
Think at stages all the cg players did something, but agree with you. A lot of good players down on their form. Had cg lost, the knives would've been into them straight away.

Droopy, who do you think was "down on their form" of the Caulfield players?

Memo to Caulfield: Winners are grinners - particularly ones that were written off. Don't get sucked in to the posts of an insecure troll. No one cares about the opinions of an egotistical little boy desperate for recognition by a bunch of pseudonyms. The more you respond and feed the fodder the more you're clogging up this thread with rubbish posts.
As for Merrington and St Bernards, worry about them in 6 months time. For now you should be revelling in the success of wrenching that monkey off your back.

Poor form CC, not that I am surprised. True colours and all that!

I'd advise you to stop posting gibberish and looking like a fool, but you wouldn't listen to little old me...
