Not at allSticks, you seem to be all over this topic - is it true that Beaumaris pleaded the charged player's innocence to the extent of him not being involved in the fracas?

yep, truly amazing considering a "medical expert" stood up in front of the "tribunal" and swore that he would miss 5-6 weeks which no doubt played a part in determining Petering's penalty.
How many people, when told by their doctor, give up smoking, actually do?
From my understanding it was the players contrition (big word) that ensured a long gap between games.[/quote
Not sure what the smoking inference (big word) is but if you're suggesting that a doctor's recommendations hold little water I beg to differ. Can't comment on Petering's remorsefulness or lack thereof as I wasn't there.

I am missing the issue here. Are you guys from Beauy saying that a behind the play king hit is acceptable just because the victim only missed one week? What about the fact that he had to have an operation? 5 weeks is fair IMO.
If this occured off the football field, what would have been the ramification? Ask Simon Cowley.

BS not at all "behind the play" must be stamped out of the game the sooner the better, but seems to be some major inconsistency in the injury, games missed and also where / when it happened! This can't be over looked....

The Seasiders, not happy with being clear enough on the Melee ladder have added another Melee to their score.
Congratulation to Beaumaris - 10 club melees in 2 seasons + 2 games. VAFA record. Rare territory indeed.
Not to be outdone St Bedes and the Krushers stepped up and also have added another melee.
Over to the Brightonians to respond in kind!
THE EYE
And just in case it escaped anyone -- Old Brighton v Werribee District.
MAJOR MELEE & MINOR MELEE in the one game - Seniors R2
Old Brighton - $1,150
Werribee - $750
Accepted Prescribed.
If he did'nt do it in the first place, then he wouldn't been reported & consequently missing games as a result!!
No doubt really dont think anyone here is saying he should of got off, but this was a complete setup when it come to the amount of time given based on the injury recived! I'm sure the VAFA aren't happy about being made look stupid when a player is going to be out for 6 they use this to sentance and he plays in 2??
FFS.
Off the ball. 3-4 weeks
Less than truthful and no contrition additional 1-2 weeks
Injury level - irrelevant
Who pays for the surgery, who covers the lost wages. Not Mr. Petering
PS
Who wouldn't take the 4 points. Didn't deserve them, but 4 points is 4 points.

And I find you Brian and Bob Down absolutely enthralling.I am with you Brian!
Back to the football, great to see a couple of Blacks players named in the U 23 squad, I personally would have thought that we should had up to half a dozen but that's typical of people not rating our club. Just wondering how 3 players from a Premier C club get in before better players from Premier B or A clubs? Is there someone from that club on the selection panel? Seems very odd, nepotism?
Not afraid to go anywhere to play Werribee, we will play them at the shit farm if need be, which after looking at the location of this weeks game may as well be there! Their form has been pretty 'smelly' the last few weeks!
Winners this week:
Blacks by 75 going away...
Beauy by 40,
OB by plenty, I mean twenty.
OM's by 10 pts
Oakleigh to upset the chokers by 7 points.
What has happened to Cardio, has he been given the lemon and sarse?

While on the U23s. I reckon the rep stuff is great but it is absolutely ridiculous that the U23s game is being played on the same weekend as club games. Why not the weekend of 14th July when the U19s game is on and there is no Premier A, B or C matches. This will really impact on who makes themselves available. (I know it already has)
Thankfully our club only had 3 nominated but we could easily have had a lot more. A big number of our senior list are in this age bracket and many would have very solid claims.
