I think the whole situation is driven by council not so much alignment to either club. The juniors have a fantastic committee of people and I'm sure they are frustrated with the situation to build a stable environment where teams not running up and down Warrigal rd.

Either way the decision by the committee I'm sure will be to the benefit of the club not any individual football league.

Not a massive issue for the VAFA but as it may impact on the Krushers I guess it has some interest but to be honest Carl it does not really bother me either way. I was just reporting what someone directly involved told me on the weekend. If Bedford has a more recent update then fair enough and I don’t dispute what he says. This person, who has 2 sons at the club, was adamant that nothing has changed. Below is taken straight from their website but I guess time will tell.

For the past ten years the Oakleigh Dragons have been playing
and training out of several different venues, this has been
directed from the Monash Council and has been a result of the
drought, ground availability and working amicably with different
sporting clubs to accommodate all requirements.
This committee is unanimous in its belief that the best direction for
our club is to continue to play and train out of two venues, being
both Scammel Reserve and Princess Hwy Reserve, and to
continue having Scammel as our “Home Ground”- with each venue
having a senior football club we have concluded that training
and playing commitments can be maximized by utilizing both
grounds.
This unanimous decision has been made with the clubs long term
future in mind, and takes into account the strong links with local
schools and their projected number of school admissions
which impact our recruitment, South Oakleigh Auskick, other local
sporting clubs and their proximity to us.
If any member of our club would like to propose alternative options
for the clubs direction, we are happy to take submissions for this to
consider , but this committee needs to start recruitment for next
season now, and we want a clear direction to market to our current
and prospective players, parents and sponsors.

I think out of that lot SKOB would be in front as the others are relatively unknowns at this level of football, however mail on Kempton is very strong and will change the team into stronger outfit.

Interesting to see who Harford will attract to SKOB - hopefully a couple of midfielders to take the pressure of Dowd as they lack depth in this area and he ain't getting any younger.

Hello Carl, good to see we are talking footy again, I couldn't give a fat racks clacker about Oakliegh Dragons, worst colours in the MSJFL.

I disagree about he midfield at SKOB, Edgar is a gun and we have 3 State Rep on ballers in Simpson, Dowd and Wissell, the key is keeping them fit and having Simmo play a whole season, as evidenced by the umpires votes in the medal. Im also not sure if Dowdy is over the hill at age 24!

I'm sure there are a few lads up Harftime's sleeve, should be a great year in B next year.

In regards to Kempo, let's see how he goes, has never coached before.

Why don't you throw a Brick in as well?
I'll give you Filth however and I would expect Harfa to play him longer in the midfield in 2012 to slacken the load so the main man stays injury free. To do this you need 1-2 more - Lynch not as mobile and needs to go defensive as very good down there. Simmo needs to rotate to often as works ineffectively across lines when on the pill.

Anyway, good luck and look forward to see a completely different game style - and going by Balwyn it will be smack down the middle at all costs.

Most teams are a wake up to Edgar now - I wouldn't have him in the middle though.
Brian, is Gabelich on the way back - he showed some very good form start of last year - and he was one guy I was looking forward to seeing blossom after being nurtured through the previous season.
Brickie was solid but not as dashing as in 2010.

Come on Brian, surely you know that P dowd is closer to 24 than B Dowd?

However the midfield has always been Skobs strength and that won't change with the young talent coming through. Brick was given more very tight shut down rolls in 2011 which decreased his run and carry. Gabelich will be ready for the start of the season and hopefully he can stay on the park all year.
