Bad call Occy!!!
It's round 3, here's a couple of recent scores for you to compare the top 3 sides:
Blacks 101 def Oakleigh 72, OH beat Oaks by more on the weekend.
Beauy 112 Oakleigh 35, Beauy a bigger margin than Blacks also.
Blacks 115 OMs 86, SKOB 129 OM's 40, hmm, another bigger margin.
It is certainly shaping as an interesting year but to be forecasting anyone to lock in Blacks or for that matter anyone else is a little extreme.
Remember St Bernards last year?
Yes completely agree here. Blacks have started well, but they were in exactly the same situation last year at 3-0. They then went on a mid season losing streak of about 5 or 6 before toppling the (at the time) unbeaten Caulfield.
Occy, you should know better than to talk up a team after round three. Not exactly sure just how much 'recruiting' they did either. Besides Willingham, it appears that all new players have come from either within the Uni or from interstate with connections at Blacks. Club is like a lost boys home!
SKevs form line suggest that they are certainly the ones to beat. Having 5 players from one premier B club represent the VAFA against the EDFL suggests that by at least reputation, they have some incredible talent. My money is on them. Beauy seem to be traveling well too, in between punching and sniping the opposition that is.
Privateeye, I'd be looking into why Howgate (Carey's former skipper) left the club.(redacted)
As for Bernards, yes remember all too well what happened with them. They started out as a bunch of bad blokes that couldn't win a game and ended up an even badder bunch of blokes who could hardly lose.
Big weekend in footy coming up, might sort out a few teams!
