No doubt Petering has some issues ...silly boy has missed way too much footy. In fact he hasn't played a game against OMs or St Kevins this year so Beauy's finals progression certainly doesn't hinge on him. Sure they'd prefer to have him available, but if he's simply undisciplined, maybe not!
Petering's tribunal appeal was successful. I take back my derogatory comments.

Thoughts for this weekend's finals games:

Seniors:
1st Semi
Beaumaris vs Old Melburnians
2nd Semi
University Blacks vs St Kevins

Reserves:
1st Semi
Old Brighton vs Beaumaris
2nd Semi
University Blacks vs St Kevins

There's only 1 loser in here, tool

It's an immature post, HBP, but he makes a good point. Their ability to go missing at the business end is second to none. I hope for their sake they can turn it around next week. Briza must be having conniptions.

No denying his points UM, however he is underselling Uni Blacks. In regards to SKOB, I'm not too fussed either way, if we are going to have results like that in Premier every week next year then I'm happy to stay in Premier B and keep developing the kids. Nothing worse than going up and tearing the heart out of the place, no good for the soul. Our school kids have won 3 of the last 4 APS flags, so the quality coming through is terrific.

Excuses already used during the year:

Injuries.
Ground conditions.
Dead rubber.
Players overseas.

Not yet used:

Umpires.
Just not good enough.

:D

Congratulations to UB, well deserved.

Not sure if SKOB will come back from that one, or if they have the desire to do so - such a great divide.

One goal in a final makes you wonder.

Got to say i agree with you on this one Brian.

I know Big Footy is for potting, and we all love a good pot, but give it a spell. If you watched the game on Saturday you'd be praising Blacks before you can SKOB, unless you're an out and out troll who doesn't appreciate good football.

Blacks are an unbelievable side - not sure how or where they recruited from this year, mostly country lads i'm sure, but they're all monsters. 4 quarters of huge pressure footy with some great tall targets was too much for the younger SKOB side. A grade material.

I'll tick this off your list AM - the umpiring was absolutely atrocious. The same muppets as the game at the Uni. All i can say is there's no wonder 3 of the top 4 B&F finishers were Blacks players - some serious wood sported for Blacks by those umpires. Disgraceful (consistent with the AFL).

Blacks would beat Caulfield's great side of last year by 4 goals.

For the second year in a row they've met and lost to a better side. But SKOB get a chance to reload. That's what you earn finishing second. Next week however there will be no excuses.

Have to agree with Brian - who wants to play footy like Caulfield did this year? Not winning a game doesn't help with retention of younger, or older, players and can fracture a club not used to it - proven by the fact 'the saviour' Lawrence has left via the back door. We all want to play A grade; but at the sake of 0-18??

Agree with Doc on his comments and it has been an issue over later year where "tanking' has been mentioned in a few quarters - not saying SKOB is tankng, but as BS stated with a young team coming through why go up and get smashed in A when (1) UB are a 10 goal better side (2) the young kids need that 1-2 years in B.

Is the 2 up, 2 down relevant in this day an age??. In all competitions there is a winner and a loser - so perhaps we need to go 1 up, 1 down.

Ultimate glory is the silverware, so why be thrown to the 'wolves' in a higher division when you couldn't even win the flag in the lower one.

Why penalise the second worst side that may have come up the previous year and needs 2-3 years with their young kids to consolidate in the higher division.

By going back down when trying to improve just demoralises the team and club.

In speaking with some high officials there are a rumblings on this and that VAFA HO needs to at least debate the situation with its member clubs.

Cheers

I think the 2 up 2 down system is great for the league
And i wouldnt assume that skob will get smashed in a grade next year (if they do win on the weekend)
Caul were a much better side than us (bernards) last year and we've managed ok in A-Grade with a very very young side
Uni v Uni in 2013
Im hoping we also get play SKOB once again
Surely this is the year

For what its worth that getoverit character seems to be playing a dangerous game especially if he is from a rival club that didnt make the finals!
Witnessed a quality game of football at Sandringham yesterday in perfect conditions. Both sides threw everything into it as you would expect in a knock out match. The difference in the end was Petering and Cathcart bobbing up at the right time with class. I do hope the tribunal got their appeal decision right as dare I say it he was the difference. Well done to OM's though for making them earn it for most of the game with quick ball movement.
Interesting game this week, Beauy off a 6 day break from a fast physical contest. I still like St.kevins as I hear they will have a couple of big guns returning according to the Brain of the ammos. Was also shocked to hear that Brighton lost the reserves semi.

have watched alot of beui this year and i like the way they move the ball like in the high scoring game against ajax last week couldnt be more impressed but yer i like st kevins in this one by 20 points.

Pride says SKOBS will hit back but lets hope not hard enough to beat Beauy. SKOBS have had four goes already to try and beat UNI and the closest they got was in the pre-season praccy. The three official games - scoring shots Uni 66 to SKOBS 21!!

For the sake of footy and Premier 2013, Beauy wins.

No discredit to SKOB's just don't have the personnel.

SKOB to salute and head to Premier next year.

..and if they don't then please refrain from the excuses please as surely everyone is available, no injuries, no delayed flights, no unexpected births, no broken down cars etc etc as I think you have exhausted them all. also a tip, Leon Davis and Didak will be at Carlton in 2013, mark my words

I have a few others which I will PM you later

Come on CC, what have injuries got to do with the time of year? Surely more collision injuries happen in finals?
