Caught the 2nd half of the Mazenod v Ajax game. Wow, what a different team the Nodders looked - maybe the quality of the opposition. Ajax - very disappointing and dare I say...soft?? Cowan and Phibbs easily Mazenods best players.

What a great day for football. Fitzroy is a great place to watch football and what a great club. Very even game with Fitzroy co -captains both playing fantastic games. Not much between clubs all day with OMs just getting home at the end. How good is Premier B football.

Just saw the VAFA under 23 representative squad not too bad imo. Who was stiff to miss out? Personally I couldn't think of anyone stiffer then Lachlan 'the tank' Nankervis. Still only 21 so I assume he will make the squad in the next couple of years.

Interesting results. Watched OM v HR and neither side had a bench after half time. OM's too fast and HR not suited to big ground. HR won every hit out but Borthwick having a rest from Collingwood VFL was fantastic. Interesting no OM's in initial U23's when spine almost all U23. Still think SKOB clear top side but rest not separated by much. HR must be a bit worried by lack of depth as ressies did not have much. Would keep an eye on Fitzroy as very good at home as are PV.

Surprising comment about the big ground considering the size of Boss James. Depth will always be tested when the likes of Fletcher and Martyn aren't playing among 5 players missing from Saturday's game. Adding to that another 7 injuries on Saturday that won't play this weekend. Doesn't excuse some of the effort against OM. Probably our worst for the year. Add that effort to the injury toll on Saturday and it wasn't pretty. Make no mistake that OM were very good, but the margin isn't an accurate measure of the gap between both teams.
Great thing about this group is they're honest with each other and were quick to address the glaringly obvious moments that lacked real effort on Saturday. Onwards and upwards.
So as we reach the halfway point of the year, which teams do you think will be in the finals at the end of the year, and who will be relegated to Premier C?
