Congratulations to Premier B's very own "Premature Speculator", Bagman99, who confidently predicted his tips very early each round and easily won the chocolates. There was no Winks effort from any of the other tipsters and Bagman 99 coasted to victory.
All the best to the four teams in the finals. Our Pirates will return to Premier C next year with a lot of valuable experience gained in our first year in Premier B. Winning the final game will give us heart.

Thank you for your companionship this year and I hope we will be renewing our acquaintance in the not too distant future.
All the best.
Well done mate , we all love what you do.

Just for the record, there is an email trail proving everything mentioned above which is why it is quite strange that the points have not been given back to parkdale. The player could not have been selected if someone from the Vafa didn't change sporting pulse to make the player available.

Given the results today parkdale have managed to hang on and stay in B grade anyway, despite having those points taken off them.

The vafa is an absolute joke the way they run it.
Agree about the VAFA, couldn't organise a chook raffle. From all accounts, the boys at Gerry are seeking action and want to clear up the mess and reclaim their points, and so they should.

Unfortunately this is not correct. Our player, who was suspended last week was available to be selected via the software. The software was not and is not perfect. Its not the determinant of if a player is available to play.

Box hill here we come.
Brighton to edge Scotch and get up to A.
Monash to outpace the bernies and grab an upset win.
Good call Les. Monash in an upset victory (difference was only 9 goals 3 weeks ago after all)
Back the top team tomorrow - Brighton in a rip snorter.

Well, Old Brighton took a stellar season into A grade and will be raging favourites to go back to the top flight as B grade premiers.

I did notice though that their gun forward, mastramanno, did not play 1sts or 2nds. Word is he was dropped and walked out of the club.

Any truth to that?

Yes but i don't think the snowdogs' firsts played last week. Pretty sure they sent out the second XVIII.
Bernards did enough to win in a hard fought contest. Scotch to start slight favourites in a 2 horse prelim race.

I've coached that kid in juniors , him and the old man are a nightmare, he can play, but its hard work.

Reserves game St.Bernards v Old Carey had to play extra time. Panthers got up kicking 1.3 to 0.0 in extra time. Not bad for a side that didn't score in 3 games last year! Now for the Prelim.

Saw the last half. Was a cracking contest. Credit to Carey on a deserved win. Really impressed with the spirit the game was played in given how tight it was.

Try umpiring it.

Thank god I was at the scoreboard end in the 2nd half.

Why, Pazza? You should live for those games. Relish them. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere and wish for the ball to come to your end so you can do what you've trained hard for.

It was a privilege umpiring the drawn A Section semi with Steve Dower, I'll never forget the sprint to the middle to compare scores at full time.

Know ive been hard on the Snow Dogs, but my prophecy was proven to be correct.
They will slip next year, their older stars, should they continue, will not get them into A if they couldnt do it this year.
Bye Bentick bye.....etc.

Not sure why they will slip too far...The bottom half of B Grade is really weak and they have enough kids to sustain and then challenge when the time is right. They were good on the weekend.

Long may the respite from the snake pit continue and while I hope you are right I expect we have just one more year before they re-appear at the pointy end.

From all accounts the top 3 in B grade this year were a cut above and they had that game done to rights on Saturday. Bentick not that old and unless there are reports to the contrary I expect he will go around again. STB’s will be further strengthened by the demise of the VFL dev league and if they can get a couple back form the EDFL then look out. And while it’s not what it once was they did salute in the Herald Shield this year’s so clearly have some talent coming through.

FWIW 100% totally correct. It has been like that for a number of years now. SKOB anyone, strong for years in B but not strong enough? The gap between the top 3 in B and the rest is huge. Beauy and Uni Blacks take OS and OB's spot or one might jump out of the pack. Bernies program has enough talent to see them competing again in 2018

What you say about the VFL situation is correct, but it also applies to ALL VAFA teams, not just Bernies.
Blacks and Beauy coming down arent complete slouches. Bernies ageing A Premier players not getting any younger, are they going magicly lift next year? I doubt it... Forget the up coming talent pool, all teams have that... Just look at what they have...and ask yourself, can that team last sat get better? Thats the question. And "yes" they were very good last sat.
With a bit of luck they would have snibbed it....Bring on 18...

With a bit of luck going against them the week before they don't even make the prelim.....
Well done young Joe Harrison the Monash b&f winner at 18.
