I didn't make the trip down there, but I gather Caulfield made hard work of it and won ugly. 31 scoring shots to 19 still though.

Vultures had the game by the balls until 10 mins into the last quarter then Scotch went bang and it was game over. Probably fitness had allot to do with it. Good effort by the Vultures, but just couldn't play the game out.

I think you'll find there was a scoring end at the College, so comparing half time and full time would be more appropriate.

This weekend is tough in 4 out of the 5 games:

St Bedes/Mentone v Parkdale - This will be closer than most think, but the Tigers are just travelling a little better. Not super confident on this pick.
Fitzroy v Monash - Fitzroy will start well (they seem to most weeks) and I'm not sure Monash will run them down. Plus I'm backing the Lions owe them some pay back from the whack they got in Round 5.
Old Geelong v Beaumaris - Toss a coin here. I'm really just banking on the Sharks continuing their last quarter effort against Blacks.
Uni Blacks v Caulfield Grammarians - Blacks coming off a loss should be primed to respond and Caulfield were far from their best last week as well. This was a nail biter last time, however the addition of Dobosz & Goddard since that clash keeps me on the Fields band wagon.
Old Scotch v Old Haileybury - Ouch!

St Bedes/Mentone v Parkdale - Parkdale have a game style that suits their home ground. Not sure they can beat Bedes on the stamp.
Fitzroy v Monash - Bit of a nothing game. Monash's best is better, but they rarely bring it.
Old Geelong v Beaumaris - Both teams would have gained some confidence from last weeks performance, but Beauy came up with the W, so I'll side with them.
Uni Blacks v Caulfield Grammarians - Blacks are a step below it seems but they match up well against Caulfield. Tipping Caulfield in a close one.
Old Scotch v Old Haileybury - Scotch have been playing a few 19's, hopefully they get back to full strength soon, as they have Caulfield and Blacks after the bye. OS should win this but they haven't been dominating recently.

I'm getting really good at picking 4! Here's another go at the elusive 5.

Beaumaris v Parkdale - Both teams have been super competitive and I'm only going with the home side because they had a slightly easier hit out last week.
Fitzroy v Old Scotch - No contest.
Monash Blues v Uni Blacks - No contest.
Caulfield v St Bedes Mentone - This may be closer than you think, but I am sticking with the boys at home.
Old Haileybury v Old Geelong - The Bloods are a much better side at home and I think may have too much for OGs who have been impressive in quarters but don't seem to piece 4 good ones together.

Caulfield v St Bedes Mentone - St Bedes will apply plenty of pressure but Caulfield should win. Caulfield by 20 points.
Old Haileybury v Old Geelong - Going to give Old Geelong a chance. Have been battling to string 4 quarters together, however, OH have been playing pretty poorly. OGGS by 10 points.

Not sure there is any point challenging the VAFA tribunal these days. JT at Caulfield got 3 weeks for a push near the boundary. The VAFA website says violent throwing or pushing an opponent. Happened in the 2nd quarter and definitely a free kick, but 3 weeks? Really?

Absolute BS decision, not even a reportable offence as deemed by the umpire. Balic actually received a free kick for incorrect disposal or holding the ball. Fairdinkum disgrace for blokes to be rubbed out for a tackle that was brilliant but the momentum going forward made it worse. Id love to hear what those cretins expect you to do in that situation.

Saw the Lahy rough conduct at Uni. No report from the umpire but see he also got 3 weeks. Didn’t think there was anything in it to be honest.

Also saw this. In wet conditions and with the fence so close to the boundary, am very surprised to see he got 3. A free kick and possibly the umpire can tell him to take care under the conditions but far from 3.
