Having a quick look at Round 18 when our Grand Finalists last met:
  • Old Trinity look to have 5 changes, including 3 U19's going out and McGlashan, Phillips & Manoussakis coming in. Clearly major improvements to a team that only lost by 16 points.
  • Caulfield look to have 3 changes with Dammersmith (VFL) out, but the Captain and first choice Ruck back in. Probably similar strength to R18.
OT's form since they narrowly beat OM's in Round 14 has been very good, they have had a week off and would have got a good look at what Caulfield will bring on the day. I think they have an advantage in the ruck and certainly have some bigger bodies. Their ability to spread and transition from the back half was a clear strength in R18 and I suspect we'll see the same again in the GF.

Caulfield have hit some real form in the past month and got through the Prelim unscathed with respect to injuries. As I have said before the backline is a real strength and their ability to keep scores down would help any side be competitive. Because they are a relatively young side, and based on the past month, they have run games out really well and they often inflict damage in the last 5min of each quarter.

Rain is forecast for Saturday and there will no doubt be some wind at Sandringham. Not sure how that impacts either side tbh.

OT deserve to go in favourites, but this is not out of Caulfield's reach.

Wind definitely advantages Caulfield, their run game is second to none... tore old Carey apart in a very windy game two weeks ago. I would have them going in as favourites simply due to the hot form they have been in

There are some whispers Nathan Brown might be on thin ice at OM’s

Given we had 7 under 19’s in the team there is a lot of upside. We will lick our wounds and get ready for 2026.

Everyone is going around next year.🤞

Caulfield were fantastic and showed they will be up for the fight next week.

Amazing stat that neither of the reserves teamS playing off for the premiership will be in Prem B next year with Trinity going up and Fitzroy going down.

It’s been a big 3 years for the club from winning Prem C in 2023 and playing finals in Prem B two years later.

We will definitely rue our last quarter against Trinity last week.

But realistically our form over the last 6 weeks was ordinary only winning two games and both against the bottom teams, and both of those games we struggled for a good portion of the game.

Recruiting has started. Contracts signed.😂😂

Good luck to both teams next week.

Harry Thompson is the key for Trinity. Control him and I believe Caulfield will win.

Go Hoes
You were right Max.

Harry Thompson BOG….thought he was the difference yesterday.

We lost Dobosz in the second quarter which hurt, but was super proud of how the boys kept coming. The last 5 min of the 2nd quarter where OT kicked 4 quick goals was the difference.

Hoping for better results for our 2 girls sides today

We were watching from our vote count.

It would have been easy to take the lose and celebrate promotion.

We done, and good luck next year.

After 8 years including 2 years greatly affected by COVID, Jarrod said it was time. With a young family and a successful job, being a coach not only of OIGFC but his sons Under 8 football team, something had to give.😂

With the greatest admiration of not only Jarrod’s efforts, but his fathers as well, the club is in a great position going forward.

Jarrod indicated that even if we had made Prem A, his time was up.

We will be looking to improve on a very good but unsuccessful year. No one is leaving at this stage🤞 and with the Under 19’s being premiers, we will continue to promote the youth.

Will the 19's be competitive up a grade? Did you play a number of schoolkids in the team and finals?

If the age limit stays at 1st on January, then 30 or the 38 kids still Under !9. All the school kids are year 12 and will play next year. So they should be ok. Need to get them in the gym.

So your under 19 is made up of a lot of schoolkids? They must only be available for 6 or 7 games?
