OI 6 of the 1st 9 at home. Given our record last year, this a real disadvantage.
I keep saying it 1 home 1 away , if you haven't got a ground you play away and this is the disgrace of Old Melbournians playing at Elsternwick , it's the VAFA's ground , someone needs to piss them off , play at Fishermen's Bend like the cricket team

This year Carey trinity and Old Camb cant play home games for the 1st 4-6 weeks.

So why can't they play home and away
Because of school cricket fixtures. We are "guests" at the school grounds and have to follow their availabilities. In an ideal world, yes that would be best but we don't live in an ideal world. It's not a problem to us. We have the fantastic facilities and greatly appreciate them, still get 9 home 9 away games. Not a problem. Even AFL Clubs aren't one home one away.

It is all quiet here but from what I can see Old Ivanhoe & Old Trinity are looking more than quietly confident.

OM's & Fitzroy don't seem to have lost too many, albeit a few of their best that will hurt, but should be in the finals mix unless they drop their bundle.

I'm expecting Carey to more than competitive, not as confident on Hampton. I think OG's will be solid again, Camberwell not sure and Willy could go either way.

My lads will have much more depth this year (and our Reserves will be competitive for the first time since 2022), picked up a few vets in Edwards & Bugg, no retirements and only a few left for suburban cash (only 1 who was in our best 22 I think).

Should be in the Finals Mix
Old Ivanhoe
Old Trinity
Old Melburnians
Fitzroy

Could go either way
Old Geelong
Old Carey
Caulfield

Could be in the Relegation Fight
Hampton Rovers
Old Camberwell
Williamstown

Fingers crossed.

OT with their depth, will be the team to beat.

Teams coming down from A, will also be very solid.

Good luck to all.

This will be the last year of the Lodge. It will be be no more as of October. In 2027 there will be be new facilities and possibly a redone ground🙏🙏.

Hopefully the road and parking can be upgraded as well .

Surely Trinity the pick of the bunch, they were fingertips away from the Prem B GF and very unlucky to lose.

Listened to some of the VAFA Podcast last night on B Grade
Sounds like the Manton boys have left Willy for Old Trinity & Old Brighton, and one of Willy's best mids will spend a fair chunk of time in the VFL. That doesn't help them.
OM's have lost a few and will rely on Unders coming through.
Fitzroy have lost one of their best, but have picked up some and they seemed bullish about them
The Podcast talked up Old Carey and Old Geelong a bit too
But the sense was Old Trinity was the pick

Caulfield have confirmed that the Dirty Thirds are back after a 3 year hiatus

Should mean Reserves will be solid & forfeit free this season.
How does a club go from forfeiting some Reserves games (less than 40 available players) to having 3 sides (70+ players). That’s a big intake with minimal departures in 1 off season
