***PARKDALE VULTURES PRESEASON UPDATE***

tomorrow at the vulture nest, Robert 'OJ' Swayn is making his highly anticipated debut for the Parkdale Vultures in what seems to be the most talked about match of the 2012 C section pre season. Although small in stature, his looks can be quite deceiving. You dont judge a book by its cover?
The little fella has put in a long pre season and we should see him dominate stoppages around the ground and even see him sneak forward on his left and kick a couple of goals. Before he left St. Bedes 4 years ago he was averaging 30 possessions a game.
He is a great inclusion for the vultures on and off the field, and will see the Vultures to another premiership in 2012.
Another individual to look out for this season would be Benny 'Pork' Hampton, brother of brett...(B.O.B). looking trim and terrific and 3 goals to show from it in the clubs intraclub last week.

Regards Chris

What Briza said in the bolded.

Game day footy and the training involved leading up to it at the higher ammo levels is sooo intense and demanding I've often wondered why players do it. Not only for nothing but out of pocket up to a grand season with membership, club functions, fund raisers........

Who could blame them for grabbing the dollars that are on offer today? Even $200 a game. Not me.

Non-Value Add what is happening at your club Hampton Rovers,I see 20 players have left and more recently Terech, Fallon, Alcott but biggest one the president relative Mitch Westhead has left to Hammers - that says something I reckon.

Also we see you family day is at Ludstone, does this mean all your home games will be played there as the new ground at James Moss is well behind schedule???

I hope you club doesn;t do the double drop but these numbers are not looking good for the mighty green and lemon yellow

Cheers

Fitzroy had a comfortable win over Castlemaine yesterday. There apeared to be a lot of new faces in the senior line up. Will be good to see how they go against a stronger opposition in the coming weeks.

Well UM must be busy with the family, so I'll give you a quick update.

Rovers had a good win over Ormond with a very young team. Take old man Power out of the equation and you're looking at an average age of 21-22. The future's looking very promising with so many kids stepping up.

David St/Bluff Rd oval looks fantastic and very much looking forward to playing the first home game on it.

P.S. Keysborough FC ground on Cheltenham Rd has got to be one of the best surfaces in the Sth East! Compliments to the Burras :thumbsu:

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say there Bedders.

Are you trying to pump up Ormond...or talk down Rovers?

I'm guessing the latter, coz if it were the former you'd be posting it on the D Grade forum :D

Poor Scribe, what goes around comes around :)
How's your passionate defence of Williams looking now?
No loss from what I witnessed.

What do you mean "what goes around comes around"? Have you got a problem with 'Scribe' or have you never given a bloke the benefit of the doubt??
Get over yourself tossbag and comment on the footy if you've got anything to say.
As always, looking forward to clashing against OC and especially the 'Scribe'.

Williams to Ballan was news to me this afternoon, and whilst his clearance hasn't been approved, I presume it's a formality.

I haven't been on deck since early March due to the arrival of out 1st child, so I can't comment further on this. All I know is Willo got cleared to us and gave every indication he was on board for 2012. Hardly this 1st time in Ammo history that a player has chosen to scoot off to the bush for cash.

Anyhoo - if that means we go into season 2012 with the same forward 6 who got us into the preliminary, I'm not overly worried.

P&D - keep punching, you're a credit to yourself and should be proud of your brilliant contributions to this forum.

Any practice match results?
Fitzroy 1s beat NOBS by around 22 goals. Dominant display by the Roys with quite a few out (no doubt NOBS did as well).
Things are coming together quite nicely down at Brunswick Street....

Ventured out to Central to watch Mazenod play Cheltenham. Not sure of the actual score but Cheltenham looked to have won easily. Was eagerly looking forward to watching Phibbs run around but no sign of him.

Wellers played a solid physical Marcellin outfit on Saturday and there was less than a kick in it at the end. We were 5 goals up at 3/4 time but the Eagles finished off strongly and it looked like aside from one concussion for us, no other injuries for either team. Two players for each side were playing the Rep. Game yesterday, but otherwise I don't know how far off full strength they were.

We had about 6 out which is probably your standard strength level during the season proper.

Thanks for the good wishes gents.

Frase

PS - FWIW, we played Banyule last week and won reasonably easily.

Congrats on the new Scribeling. Brings to mind an old joke from Rotten Riddles section of the original Australia Post magazine.

Q. Why was the baby ink drop crying?
A. Because his Dad was in the pen and he didn't know how long the sentence would be.

Monash lost to Ajax. No details known. Too hot for footy.
Rumor that the great M Spencer is coaching the Ashes ressies. Must be the only way he can get a game on his way to 300. great clubman.

in another blow to Hampton Rovers 2012 season, J,Ting their 3rd B&F in 2011 has left the club chasing some $$ in SFL at Hampton Hammers. Also leaving McNiel who has been a regular senior as well.

Hope they can recruit some players to fill these loses now up to 28 players from 2011 squad.

No wonder Uncle Mick and Hyphen-5 have gone quiet

cheers

Because clubs will only be allowed to go to say 100 pts a game, it rewards loyalty and clubs that promote their juniors. Each comp in Australia would be graded eg. AFL player 10pts , VFL 8pts , Major local leagues say 7pts as well as Premier A and B and major country leagues. Home grown players would be nothing and if they have had a crack at higher they come back say on 2 pts and every year you are at a club you lose a point.
