Les , what is your club about. Uni students, that's not a club and don't worry we will be back
Want to know something about our club? Come have a look at our Grand final eve luncheon at the MCG. 300 past and current players - won't be any bitter, sad little individuals like you in attendance. We just get on with our business, no cheap pot shots at others. By the way the Taylor brothers seem to have made a good move. That's it from me for the day.

Thank you for that Les. Bitter , yes, with the year. Should have been at Ormond yesterday with a massive crowd for our 19's who are the future, and with the 5 junior flags will make Ormond a strong club again. That's a club, not a uni.

Bitter indeed Bedpan!
Come along and count how many are students out of our 300 at the G .................. More than a club!!!

THE EYE

Terrific to see that Ormond juniors doing well but I see they still like to dominate in the lower grades rather than test themselves in the higher divsions. Has been a bit of theme at Ormond juniors for years now. Also curious why C grade clubs with strong junior feeders want their 19s in the bottom grade (Ormond, Hampton, and Oakleigh). Not sure about Rovers but my mail is that Ormond and Oakleigh had the chance to play in 19 div 3 but refused.

On another note a club is a club whether they are school, uni or suburban based. Still have volunteers busting their backside to get teams on the field. Players and supporters just as passionate no matter what the clubs origin. To me it seems the Uni clubs are travelling Ok. Red hot favorites in Premier, Premier B and not without some chance in Premier C.

How have Monash fallen away? Their form stacks up just fine. Lost 2 of their last 10 games to the top 2 sides and weren't disgraced in either of them. Silly comment to make.
Little silly your right. Amazing effort by Parkdale who lost a heap of players the past two years. I think it shows that C grade is a lot weaker then previous.

What have we learnt from week 1 of Premier C finals, and how will the Premier C Preliminary Final between Marcellin and Parkdale Vultures pan out?

FWIW - its going to be a bayside derby! Been on the Vultures now for the last 10 weeks. Great effort to get in this position, well coached and drilled.

Bedford good win by Robbo and the lads, how many were there?

What a disgrace that marcellin finish on top and have to travel to sandringham and then to casey fields. I think that VAFA needs to look at home ground advantage for the sides that finish top, especially in the second semi.

As long as the grand final are played at neutral venues. The VAFA could look at the format they used for the U/19s finals and allow the team finishing higher in the finals to host one of the semis and possibly preliminary final as well. The problem for the VAFA is two-fold, and it begins with the letter C-councils and cricket.

And while I'm at it, why can't the first & second semis be played on the same day? I reckon it's unfair on Parkdale Vultures who only have a 6 day break compared to Marcellin who have 1 extra day to prepare for the preliminary final. Since when has Premier C games been played on Sunday?

Because that's the advantage you get for finishing higher on the ladder

I think it pretty much went to script. Didn't think there was a lot between Monash and Parkdale, Hampton beat Marcellin twice during the year, 6-7 goal win is about the difference between the two teams. This week is a tough one. Still think Parkdale will win by 2-3 goals. Casey may suit Marcellin more as it's a bigger and wider ground . Parkdale play on a smaller ground, well drilled to play hard contested footy, so wider spaces may suit Marcellin. I think finals series should be played at the ground. Either sandy or casey and stick to that. Clubs should be made aware of the ground weeks out so they can plan. It should change multiple times during the finals.

sorry shouldn't change during finals and should only be played at the one ground

Preliminary Finals are not only great to watch (it's the last chance for either Marcellin or Parkdale Vultures to not only win through to the grand final to meet the Rovers next Saturday but also promotion to Premier B for 2015), but also the hardest to pick a winner as well. You just don't know what will happen when the preliminary final starts. So who will win-Marcellin or Parkdale Vultures?

What do we make of Marcellin if they don't get over Parkdale? SKOB have earned a name for themselves not being able to get up from B after some strong performances in H&A season. I'm curious as to whether people think it's a state of mind, the coach or just simply bad timing.

Please, at least neither of these clubs did the double drop, let's see how good you blokes are next year if you meet either team.
