OH were strong all day and played the conditions brilliantly.
No excuses, and presented with similar conditions OH could quite easily heading back to B.
God Casey is a long distance from Ivanhoe.

Its an amazing effort. Injured in Round 7(no votes), came back in Round 18.
Won the Medal after Round 6, that is a record that's not likely to be broken any time soon.

Think there may be some sleepless nights for those supporting the Eagles as they try and regroup and get themselves back on track. Should be a nice and tight game with the season pacesetters just getting across the line. Marcellin vs Old Haileybury.
DT was at the game on Sunday. He will be very nervous.
If OH play with the same level of intensity and commitment, they will be in B Grade next year.

How does a team that roll through the year like Marcellin did this year and go out in straight sets so easily?
It just shows all you need to do is stay competitive make to the finals, reload and start again. Frustrating and coach killing.

Nothing - DT is THE favourite son. With all due respect he did very well to take them to top with only 1 year of reserves coaching (and it was a couple of years ago) as his CV.
Extremely disappointing for Eagles to go straight out, but it still is more of a reflection on the playing group than the coaching staff - on this occassion.
What has happened in the past then??????????????????
From afar, Marcellin have the most consistent player group of any team that has played in C Grade for years. They just don't appear to have enough real A Graders who can turn it on in the big games. (No shots at Jarrod Carlson, but can there be someone else).
Marcellin also need to get some mobile bigs to support their mid sized players. During the season Marcellin have too many goals kicked by flankers and pockets. In finals, these goals usually dry up.
2012 - Lost to Mazenod in 1st semi by 1 point. Mozenod ended up being the strongest team in C Grade in 2013
2013 - Lost to Mazeond, who were the best team we faced that year, then lost to OI, when Del Monte kicked 8 goals.
2014 - Lost to HR, then Parkdale. This was the biggest loss. Parkdale were 4th and were no where as good as 4th placed team (Monash) from 2013.
2015 - Lost to Moansh. As good as Mazenod and OI from 2013. Lost to OH. Best 4th placed team in the last 5-10 years. This is because they had 99% of the best players available for the finals, and they play a solid brand of B Grade football (with body shape and size) to match.
We are happy for Marcellin being in C Grade because they are close by and their ground is great.
After seeing OH the week before, OH only needed to bring the same intensity and there wouldn't be much Marcellin could do to stop them. I can see them beating Monash if the conditions are as they usually are at Trevor Barker (windy).
PS one T Brain said the Caulfield is looking to drop straight from B to D1. This would keep Therry in C Grade.
