Should have said the vast majority are non district clubs. Even Beaumaris, which is really the exception, has difficulty having sustained success at the very top level.Not that long AM – last year in fact. Remember Beaumaris? And I fully expect they will be back in the top grade again next year.
I completely agree re the difficulties in staying at the pointy end. Even harder for un fashionable ACC old boys clubs such as ours to compete with the elite uni’s and APS schools. Simply don’t have the same networks and the better students get picked off while still at school. We just have to accept our lot and do the best we can.
As for your club, I’m sure the Monders and other district clubs would love to have around 1200 youngsters coming through the system on a regular basis. Just sayin!
