Whatevs Bedders. You have seen Sir Beaser play up in the past and reference him. Last time I was at an Ormond game your lads caused havoc for security with the booze. You can only comment from experience unless you choose to make things up?
But we are both on the same page here. We don't want anyone playing up. Hopefully Beaser and the Ormond booze was a non affair..
Keep punching..

Maybe stop peddling crap.

Bored on lunch break and had a quick peep at the bottom 5 and who they play in the next 2 weeks.

Kew (6 wins) Willy (A) Marc (A)
OC (6) Pen (A) Orm (H)
Marc (5.5) Maz (H) Kew (H)
Oak (5) Orm (A) Caulfield (H)
Orm (4) Oak (H) OC (A)

If Kew drop both and Oakleigh win both, with OC beating Ormond, it could end up like this:

OC 7
Oak 7
Marc 6.5
Kew 6
Ormond 4

Wow wee, could be a ripping finish to the regular season....

My relegation prediction:

Round 17

Marcellin vs Mazenod
Oakleigh vs Ormond

Ladder - Bottom 3

Oakleigh 24
Marcellin 22
Ormond 16

Round 18

Marcellin vs Kew
Oakleigh vs Caulfield
Ormond vs OC

Ladder bottom 2

Bye Bye . . .

Marcellin 22
Ormond 16

One other point on today .....no tags from either coach ....really good to see the skilled players doin there thing without some guy who can't get a kick but can scrag push hold on etc so gets a game ...

Negative Tactics...

We have had a few occasions this year when "hard tags" have been applied to players (not last week). As I am sure happens to certain players at all Clubs.

I note that there is a Negative Tactics Code on the VAFA Website which is very clear that Umpires should be dealing with "Negative Tactics" in certain situations. It is quite strong in its approach and consequent actions.

Just wondering if anyone has seen umpires actually paying frees / sending players off etc.

The rule was brought in because of the Hart Foundation at St.Kevins and their tactics on Russell Morris of OCamb and Johnny Stevens of OI.

It stops players facing their opponent when the ball in not in the general area. ie what SOS used to do all the time.

Seen applied twice, as it really hasn't needed too since.

Tagging is ok as long as you are looking towards the ball.

It’s one of my pet hates. That is players being literally mauled particularly at stop plays. Happens at all levels. Umpires are supposedly told the tone of a game is set in the first five minutes. Pay a free or two then and it will cease.

Same applies to all the off ball crap (pushing and shoving, grabbing players neck high, jumper punches et al) that goes on generally at the start of games and often ends up with reportable incidents. If umpires got on top of that crap at the get-go it would cease.

End of rant.

Any news Bedders on Canada's favourite . I would assume he would have been well behaved for once.
He was very quiet during the game and shaking hands after the game , asked Lever not to push him. Then had the guts to come upstairs for an hour and then proceded to give the Monds Pres a bake on how last time we met must have been his lowest moment in footy. The Kew Pres who is a good bloke just stood by and said nothing. So that's it, but terrific win with a few kids and it's not over yet , but close.

I attribute his improved behaviour solely to you Bedders. Clearly he reads BF and has completely disregarded Canada and his sycophancy and heeded your well rounded advice.

Improved behavior......only two weeks ago he was reported to the umpires having had a verbal altercation with a female spectator...

This is not C Grade related but on SEN tonight (Mark Fine) they talked about SKOBS changing their coach about 4-5 weeks ago. I was under the impression that Harford was their coach, and couldnt understand how he did that with his commitment to SEN until 7pm each night.
SKOBS went undefeated in Seniors and Ressies in B Grade last year and i think everyone expected them to cream A Grade.
Can anyone shed any light?

What sort of bake Bedford? In my experience no one bakes an opposition key individual, not unless they are there until 9pm and many frothies have gone down. To do that after a game is unheard of and very poor form.

It was early after the game and a sledge at the Ormond Pres and I won't go on about it, but I couldn't imagine another coach in the ammo's saying what he did.

They were damn good last year. Thought they would have an impact in Premier .... Very surprised with Salopaks grysbert gillham etc that they have been just... I think Harford was sharing duties during week and Coaching match days

Finey was right. Jon Edgar was their coach due to Harford changing SEN time shifts to 3.00pm to 7.00pm. Harford and Michael Christian have assumed the responsibilities.
